Scent marking indoors, barking at other dogs, hu***ng your leg: young male dogs can exhibit a range of undesirable behaviours and I am regularly asked whether castration will solve all of these. The simple answer is probably not. Castration may help to resolve those behaviours that are primarily controlled by the s*x hormone, testosterone, but there are also other factors to consider. My advice is to talk to your vet and consider working in partnership with a behaviourist to help understand and manage unwanted behaviours.

For more information, take a look at my recent blog post.
