EXACTLY how Ashley corrects other dogs. Yet people think she's vicious. No, Penny, she's doing her job. If she was vicious, she'd have ripped your dog's throat out by now.

Ashley is the best dog teacher I have ever come across. Not ONLY does she know HOW to correct bolshy dogs, she also knows how to stop a dog fight before it occurs.
Proof that she's not a fighter but an invaluable expert for me. I learn from her every day.
Don't get me wrong, she's no saint & does get told off more regularly than you might believe, but that's another issue..... 😬🤣

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU USED LICENCED PREMISES ONLY!

For one, an UNLICENSED premise holds NO INSURANCE, & even if your own dog is insured, that insurance also becomes invalid. So who do you think foots the bill when an accident happens?
Two, CHECK where your dogs are staying. The more questions you ask, the better. If a boarder won't allow you to see their home, STAY AWAY. We welcome unannounced visits from potential Clients.
Three; For goodness sakes; ASK TO SEE THEIR LICENCE!
If we ARE LICENCED, you can find us on the Council Register of Licenced Premises. (We are under FHDC Licence No. AW03/24)
Lastly, (but by no means least!) all boarders MUST do a trial night BEFORE boarding commences. It is a DEFRA requirement & a huge part of our licencing conditions. If need be, ask for references from other clients who use our services, or even other boarders etc.

Please don't let your dogs end up in hell! 😫

I felt the need to share this & say my piece; This is neither cute nor funny. Whoever the hell was filming this should be reported to Child Protective Services for endangering their child's life. That dog is clearly telling child to "get away from my shoe!" & if this poor dog had bitten that child, I'm quite sure said parents would have blamed the dog & had it put down!! Ffs.... 🙄😡

As you're all aware, I have come down with this poxy virus that everyone seems to be getting 😒 I thought I'd avoided it because I was living away from home for a month. But no. Hubby decided to give me it when I got home, & now I've lost my bloody voice.... 🙄 Which is great for you guys cos I can't argue! 🤣 Anyway, the most vulnerable of my clients (well, their humans anyway) will miss their walk, because if I feel lousy, they'll feel 10 times worse!
Believe me; all i want to do is curl up & sleep but that won't get rid of it. So it's business as usual, complete with face mask to protect the rest of you. So glad I use Private Hire Fields ONLY..... Means this Cranky ol' Bi**ch can't get into trouble! 🤣🤣🤣

As most are aware, Vespa here is petrified of loud bangs. She never used to be this way, but it's gotten worse as she's got older. No amount of training has helped her desensitise to fireworks. The problem is, they go off randomly, & it frightens the bejeezus out of her.
We have tried everything.
Then I decided to try a 'calming' collar along with a calming plug-in.
I wasn't home to see if it worked, but my family reported she didn't shake, didn't drool & seemed a lot calmer. This makes me very happy & I will certainly invest in them again.
I wonder if they work on dogs with particular anxieties?
I'll certainly try them, as they do no harm.

I wanted to say a little piece about this beef-head here. When I first met her, she wanted to kill just about anything that moved, including me... 😳 I have worked with this tyrant for a year now, & with patience, understanding & kindness, she has proven to be a very social dog. She's mixing with others, she's no longer trying to kill them before she's met them & she's actually playing with others. This bulldozer HATED sharing toys, would try & steal her housemate's food (the other dogs in her home) & wouldn't let ANYONE (except her Owners) in the house.
All that has changed. She's sharing toys, not trying to bully the others & is friendly when people stop by. She's still very Leash reactive, but so are half the dogs out there. She's responded so well to training, & I am extremely proud of her.
But I'm even more proud of her Owners for taking steps to get help & recognising there is a problem. These guys have followed everything I've said, & although she's not perfect, she's a dam sight better than a year ago.

Us Behaviourists work dam hard to get your dogs here. We can't (& don't) work magic, & it can't/won't be fixed in an hour. But we can help. It just takes longer than average to iron out the creases.

Hi all!

I've been having a rethink about the way I run my business. I have come to the decision that from now on, I will only use secure fields. There's a few reasons for this, the main one being Members of the Public. I am SICK to DEATH of narky comments, telling me my dogs are fighting when they are playing & my personal favourite; "CONTROL YOUR DOG!" 😠😒
I know not all your dogs need them, but this way they get to have fun, be themselves & tell each other off when appropriate without someone shouting at us. They also get to wander off, & have a real good sniffathon without me breathing down their neck. I am becoming less mobile; my back isn't great, riddled with scoliosis, arthritis & ankylosing spondylitis as well as osteoporosis. There are some changes coming up in my personal life too; which means I need to be around to do school runs etc whilst my husband takes a break after his operation. My walks can be controlled at my pace, & i get to rest when it's needed. I am having a rejig of my walking day; MOST of the dogs on my books have a great rapport & means I can switch & change (as well as my Clients) when needed. It's peace of mind, too, that if your dog does wander off, I haven't got to chase after them. Like one dog did to me on Monday. Ran straight out into the middle of the road & scared me half to death! 😫🥺 That was after slipping out of a CLOSED gate..... So, bearing all the factors above, I will be using secured fields ONLY.
I have found some real gems; Ash, Vespa & I have been checking them out over the last week or so. They're safe, easy to get to & your dogs will love 'em! 😅

I never normally post at weekends, but I thought this worthy of a mention.
Took my Ash & friends to another enclosed field today. We'd not been here before, & Ashley checks them all out for me. She's good at finding holes in fences, for example.
Anyway, she was watching something in the bushes about 50ft away from me. Every now & again, she'd stick her nose in then out & lay down, waiting. After watching her for approximately 5 mins, she then stuck her head in & came trotting over to me in her fancy show dog fashion, complete with something in her mouth. I asked her what she had, & very carefully laid it at my feet. She then lay down. She nose nudged it a couple of times & licked it. She kept looking at me with an odd look. I bent down, & it was a little field mouse. I got a 💩 bag & picked it up. It was dead. I think Ash killed it, but unintentionally. Ashley loves other animals, & has never hurt one before. The minute I said "it's gone, it's dead, Ash" she nudged my hand open as if to check. She licked it a couple more times then took it gently in her mouth. I said "Sorry Ash, it's gone. Leave it." With that, she dropped it into my hand & appeared sad. Ashley may be completely psychotic at times with other dogs on first meet, but with little animals or non-dog animals, she's a real mother hen. These are the moments I cherish the most with her. Her sweet, kind, gentle nature. Not all dogs are killers. Some are mothers ❤️💞💓
