Unfortunately my oldest male Pietro passed away yesterday (pic at 6weeks old) he was a ripe old age of 34 months just 2 months short of being 3.

If you’re looking for a great Christmas present as well as being informative then check out this. I haven’t got a copy yet but there have been great reviews. I am no way affiliated with Azuline Rattery just passing it on as decent educational books about rat care are hard to find.

I was thinking about who this book is for, and I genuinely think it will be useful to most pet rat owners no matter where you are in your journey. Yes, a lot of the information will be brand new if you're just thinking about getting pet rats, but even if you have lots of experience, I think there's a lot that will still be useful in the chapters on common health issues and how to treat them, surgery and euthanasia and even how to make the decision to give up owning rats altogether.

One of the conversations I had to have when I was editing this book is to think about the people who don't like me/my articles as a blanket attitude and which sections in my book I needed to "tone down" to avoid them using it to discredit the whole book. It's a sad, but necessary consideration and ultimately I think it's made the book better!
