Schedule Change Notice.

I will be operating a reduced appointment schedule for the foreseeable future due to significant medical issues.

There will be no debates on squeezing people in last minute or working out of hours to fit you in.

I am traveling to and from the hospital regularly, having treatment, and require more personal time to manage my recent diagnosis.

I appreciate your cooperation and understanding.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

I am now temporarily closed from 13th to 29th May.

During this time, I will not be taking any grooming calls, texts or emails. This includes contact over what's app and Facebook messenger.

I will be out of the country so if you do call, leave a voicemail or text during the above time period then you might be charged international rate. Please take note of that.

IMPORTANT

Just a reminder that there will be no grooming between May 13th - 25th.

For the week prior and week after the above dates I will only be booking in my regular clients (no new clients or one time bookings).

This is to ensure my regular clients are all able to have their grooms with as little disruption as possible.

Can I ask all regular clients who would be due in May (especially in the dates I am closed) to make sure they have an appointment booked before or just after the dates above.

I will not be taking any bookings or work calls during the above dates.

Hi all, an elderly client is unfortunately needing to rehome her 8 year old female F2 Labradoodle, due to ill health.
If any of my clients are interested in adopting a large poodle type please contact me.
She requires a home that can manage an energetic big dog as she is full of beans!

Hi everyone, just to let you know my road (Love Lane) will be closed again for a month from tomorrow morning so to access grooming you will need to go across Robin Hood and up Oxford Road.
Can I also ask that you park in the drive way when arriving as my slip road will be on lights for the estate behind me again.
Sorry for the inconvenience! It's a nightmare x

There is currently an outbreak of Kennel Cough in the area.

So I would like to remind all clients that if your dog starts presenting any symptoms (cough, sneezing, runny nose, lethargy, loss of appetite, low fever) you need to make me aware and rearrange your appointment for 2 weeks time or if symptoms still present after that time then after symptoms have stopped. This is very important.

If you bring your dog and they have symptoms I will not accept them into the salon.

This is because kennel cough is highly infectious and I would need to close the salon for the rest of the day to deep clean and disinfect after if the dog came into the salon. This means I would have to rearrange all the other appointments that day meaning all the other clients would not receive their groom.

If you have any questions please don't hestiate to contact me.

Hi everyone. Yesterday in Thatcham a silver Landrover was seen on Ikely way when it was following a woman walking her dog and then pulled up and took photos of them from the car and they didn't leave until the woman's partner came as took down the license plate and called the police.
PLEASE be so careful with your dog's. At the moment dog theft is worse than ever and dogs are being stolen every day.
Be vigilant when walking especially off lead and if you see anything suspicious report it to the police straight away. It could save someone's dog.

Just a reminder to my clients about the current restrictions on dog grooming under the lockdown guidelines.
The Pet Industry Federation stated at the beginning of Lockdown that routine grooming for appearance should be DELAYED until lockdown is over. Grooming can ONLY take place for health and welfare reasons such as matting issues or skin conditions.
Breaching these guidelines could result in me being fined up to £6,400.
I also live with a medically vulnerable person over 70 in shielding and I also have a compromised immune system so keeping to shielding and lockdown rules is massively important to my family's health.
The MAJORITY of my clients are AMAZING and I couldn't THANK YOU enough for your understanding.
HOWEVER I have experienced some unpleasant comments and attitudes during telephone conversations regarding the lockdown rules/routine grooming from a small minority of people, which quite honestly has been upsetting.
It deeply saddens me to need to say this but I will not except challenging behaviour or abusive comments regarding routine grooming or the wellbeing of my family.
I would also like to add that I don't answer business calls outside of business hours (for obvious reasons). Last week on my business phone, I received 3 calls from the same person after 9pm followed by a text message asking me why I was not answering.
So I will now be turning the phone off outside of business hours.

If you need to discuss the above info further with me then please feel free to contact me between 10-6 on weekdays by phone, email or messenger. Feel free to leave a message and I will respond to you on the next working day if it's outside of business hours.

If any one is ever looking for a pet sitter. I highly recommend Karen Bartlett at 'Just Fur You'. She is so caring and attentive. She adores animals and would look after your pets as if they were her own. I trust Karen implicitly with my own dogs and couldn't recommend her enough.

Hello Everyone,

Like many other independent and small businesses I still don't know if I can remain open or will have to close from Thursday. It appears that on Wednesday after the goverment debate a full list of closures and exemptions will be published (and what conditions the exemptions have to work within).
When this full list is published by the goverment I will update you on whether I am open for business or closed for the 4 week lockdown.

Hello Everyone, this is a update on the covid-19 situation relating to my business.

We are waiting for confirmation details on the lockdown at 4pm today.

There is a strong possibility that from Wednesday 4th November we will return to lockdown for 4 weeks.
This means I may have to close for those 4 weeks in Novemeber.

I will post again later today when we know exactly what is going to happen in our area.

RSPCA are now calling for licensing and regulation for dog walkers, sitters and groomers.
I've said for a long time this desperately needed to be put in place to prevent abuse, neglect and unsafe practice.
Professional animal carers and workers should be qualified and insured and hopefully soon to be licensed as well.
In order to care and work safely and to a high standard we need to be professionally trained, have strong insurance and belong to a licensing body which regulates and monitors our practice.

I am City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma qualified in Dog Grooming and fully insured with PetPlan Business.

It's ridiculous that dog groomers, walkers and sitter can practice without any qualifications at all and if they are unqualified they are likely uninsured.
It is vital that you ask these questions when you contact groomers, walkers and sitters.
Ask about their qualifications and insurance. Don't just accept them telling you they have them ask for details. Qualified and insured professionals will know these details and will have the offical documents.

I hope that licensing is brought in very soon and that it meets the current need in animal care.
