⭐Meet the team Monday ⭐
Meet Liz our latest addition to our team of Vets!

"I graduated from the University of Nottingham in July 2025 and I’m excited to begin my veterinary career with the team here at Newbury! After spending many months of placement at the practice during my studies, I’m delighted to now be joining permanently and continuing to work with the owners and pets I have come to know so well.

I have a particular interest in ophthalmology and surgery, and I look forward to developing my skills further in these areas. I am especially passionate about providing compassionate, high-quality care for every animal that comes through our doors.

Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors, especially hiking and exploring new countryside trails with my dog, Poppy, as well as spending time riding my ponies, Tom and Summer. I also love unwinding with a good book at the end of the day, usually with my cat, Mimi, by my side. πŸˆπŸ•πŸŽ

It's practice manager appreciation week! πŸŽ‰

Meet our practice manager Sandy πŸ’œ
You may not have met her in practice but she's always working behind the scenes to try and keep everything running smoothly!
She's also the chief snack provider for our team on those super busy days πŸͺ

About Sandy:
"I joined Vets4Pets in January 2019 as the Practice Manager for Abingdon, Oxford Botley Road and Newbury London Road.

I have previously worked as a Veterinary Practice Manager, a GP Practice Manager and also spent 10 years as a Human Resources Manager with over 800 colleagues to look after!

I am passionate about animals and have a mad Australian Labradoodle called Kiwi.

I love the amazing team at Vets4Pets. They care so much about every single patient and client experience and they are also great fun to work with!

The best part of the day is having cuddles with our patients – this is the best job in the world!"

πŸŽ† Fireworks & Furry Friends: Keep Them Safe This Season! πŸŽ‡
Loud noises and bright flashes can be terrifying for pets. Here’s how to help your four-legged family members stay calm and safe:

🐢 Keep them indoors β€” Close windows, curtains, and play calming music.
🐱 Create a safe space β€” A cozy den or crate with familiar toys and blankets.
🎧 Mask the noise β€” White noise or the TV can help reduce firework sounds or ear defenders.
πŸ’Š Ask your vet β€” Some pets may benefit from calming aids or medication.
πŸ“ Update ID tags & microchips β€” Just in case your pet gets scared and bolts.
🚫 Never take pets to fireworks displays β€” They’ll thank you later! And walk your pets early before the fireworks begin.

Let’s make sure this firework season is fun for us and safe for them ❀️🐾
