Handmade straight bar hind and castle hospital pad applied today for a horse who has suffered with a large sub solar abscess. Working with the vet we decided this was the best course of action so the client could still access the affected area. We choose to use a straight bar to stabilise the hoof capsule due to the amount of sole that had to be removed. Dental impression material was used at the back (Plantar) aspect of the foot to provide a soft base and prevent debris from entering at the heels.
