This is a free opportunity for riders working at Novice and Elementary levels to access FREE training in support of our coaches taking the Level 2 Accreditation. Just love these pictures of Winnie and one of our show supporters yesterday at the BD show.
Results are on line but it’s fair to say we had all the weather! Sun, wind and rain. Shame for those that got soaked but we had some fantastic combinations and top scores of up to 78% for Akeila Lynam!
Particularly well done to Charlotte Dicker of Catherston Stud who rode a huge number of tests from Prelim to PSG with great results on them all and was pretty much first here and last to leave!

Top congratulations go to Naomi Aguilar (top right picture) for riding her second GP here on the gorgeous spot who she has trained herself from a foal- and he’s a pony! Very inspiring ❤️
Another pony doing brilliantly was Jemima Byam-cook in Nicola Byam-Cook twyford Salamander who rode their first Children on Horses test and smashed it!
Fairoak horses were not to be out done with Lindsey Dawes and Fairoak Fairytale winning the Novice with 75.7% and Fiona Gierer and Solomon EL (main picture) winning the Elementary with 74.1%. Solly will be offered for sale now and is a super horse for amateur or professional.
Next show and last of this qualifying season is 15 June and entries are looking strong so don’t leave it too late to enter if you want to come.

We have a lovely day for our BD show today. Entries are also still open for next Saturdays BD.
We have a change of Novice tests however for next Saturday 1 June. N30Q and N23, have changed and are now N27 and N38Q.
Sadly we have decided to cancel this Saturdays BD Show. The rain recently had been too much and with more heavy rain forecast tomorrow and Saturday we don’t think our arenas - particularly our warm up arena- will stand up to it and we would rather cancel than give our competitors a poor experience.
Competitors will be contacted by email and offered a refund or carry forward to a future show.
So it’s a soggy way to finish 2023 but we hope you’ve all enjoyed the shows and we would like to thank our judges, writers and all our lovely staff and volunteers who have made the shows happen and run so smoothly.

This is really important! Please sign the petition from Equestrian Surfaces Ltd and share. From 1 Jan carpet fibres are to be banned in equestrian surfaces.
That means no more quality surfaces can be laid or topped up which could send us back 30 years in time and mean more injuries from less quality surfaces for our horses.
We have some medium size over reach boots and regular size bandages looking for a new home! £5 each set and collection only.

We are off to a soggy start at our BD show today but the faculties are holding up well. We’ve even given the walker talkies
a cling film coat! Let’s hope everyone’s still smiling by the ending the show. There is an almost endless supply of hit drinks and amazing cakes to keep everyone going!
Talented Amy Guare of is running a Xmas photo shoot at fairoak on 25 Nov. We plan on getting some Xmas cards
and posters made up featuring our horses but you might just want to say Happy Xmas to yourself by coming over and getting pictures taken of yourself with your favourite equine. ❤️

We are looking for a part time groom to work Sundays or even just Sunday morning and a couple of mornings during the week. Located Ashford Hill, super yard with great facilities focused on dressage and lots going on in terms of shows and clinics. Working with existing team including Lindsey and Melissa dawes, Lindsey is a list 3A dressage judge, and both are BD coaches and advanced dressage riders. Mostly working with stabled dressage horses including a GP stallion but also some youngstock in the field, so plenty of variety.

As a member of British Dressage you can take advantage of a variety of training in the South & West region at a discounted price.
Just a reminder that our first ICCQ dates start next Tuesday. The inter county challenge (ICC) is a competition run by British dressage S and W with a championship at Bicton 4-6 May. To qualify you need to attend three ICCQ events where you simply ride a test which is scored and then teams for each county of up to 12 Riders are chained from the best scores. It’s a very inclusive event and previous riders that have been say it was great fun.

Power of your Position Clinics Our position, balance and weight has enormous influence on the way of going of the horse. For example, if you sit to the left your horse is likely to fall left and it will be difficult to achieve a right bend. If your horse is sluggish and difficult to keep forward in a flowing way, this could be a consequence of how you are sitting. Are you blocking the horse with tight hips or losing balance when you ask him to move forwards? Bands, taping, lungeing and video replay are very effective methods of demonstrating to a rider what is going on but also giving them the feeling they need to have to make corrections. It is also a fun and non-judgemental way to improve your seat. 3 private 45 min sessions - £120, (normally £150) including: Warm up and discussion Initial assessment exercises Correctional exercises with a mix of lunging/bands and/or kinesiology tape Video of before and after Payable in advance and all three sessions to be used within 6 weeks to encourage effective learning and progress. Melissa Dawes on one of our lovely competition liveries. 5 yo Freisian Annie who we have re-backed and is doing really well.
This time it’s Buzz out hacking- only this video has near wipe out by rogue branch😂😂😂. Thanks as ever to dream team Fiona Gierer and Sophie Best. Buzz was equally as chilled as Mattie. He will do another week and then go back out in the field with the mares until next spring when he is 4.
We are really pleased with how our babies are taking to ridden work. We have taken it nice and slow and built their trust and confidence. This one is Mattie- DiMaggio/Weltmeyer/Lungau from one of the most famous mare lines in the country as he is out of Wendy.
A little clip of Melissa Dawes and 4yo Jessie-we will start preparing her for prelim classes ready for when lockdown is lifted. She is just a delight- forward thinking attitude, sensitive enough but not silly.
A little clip of Tamsin developing the piaffe with some half steps with help from Leanne Wall during our 2 day clinic last week. I am pleased with this as for two years Tamsin has been saying she definitely can’t do this! Only problem now is we can’t do collected walk!
