Barrington Bunny deteriorated in hospital overnight and sadly crossed Rainbow Bridge 🌈🌁 this morning. Run free handsome boy, you will be a huge miss 💔😭😿💔💔💔

Barrington is still in hospital and there is some improvement. He is taking syringe feeds well and eating kale on his own, but still has diarrhoea so receiving supportive treatment

Barrington Bunny is poorly in hospital tonight 😱😭😭😭 He has a nasty case of diarrhoea and stopped eating 🤢💩

Another new rabbit house almost ready ☺️!
This time the Naughty Netherlands are getting a new home ready for the coming winter months after the little darlings chewed a huge hole in the side of their old house and escaped 🙈🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️🐇🐇🐇

We have a new addition. This is "THOR". He was found as a stray during the recent heat wave. He is a nervous little chap and can be quite feisty!
Thor has just been castrated and is recovering well, we will start to slowly introduce him to the Netherland Family when he is fully recovered 😉

Hey everyone! How are your rabbits coping with the heat?
Eddie has her parasol up and her house is also situated in the shade until late evening when it is cooler. She also has 3 water bowls and a large water bottle wrapped in an ice pack and she has become partial to a frozen strawberry for a treat!

Quick update...
Barrington has recovered very well from anaesthetic but is furious about having to take medicine! Not an easy task to wrestle a 1ml syringe into an objectionable Continental Giants mouth!!!

Eddie loves her new house and has spent most of the day outside on her patio enjoying the pleasant view and nice weather 👌

Eddie (Edina) the Easter Bunny, our little disabled rescue rabbit that arrived in our care on Easter Sunday,, has moved into her brand house tonight.

It has been a bit of a challenge finding a suitable hutch and run to accommodate a disabled rabbit, but this 6ft 6" x 3ft chicken coop/run are perfect for our little bun that needed single tier as she cannot jump, but she can manage ramps with very gentle slopes!

We added thick rubber matting flooring inside and out to accommodate Eddie's mobility issues and prevent pressure sores

Barrington Bunny has had a trip to the vets today and weighed in at almost 6kg!!!. Nothing serious, he has been castrated! Recovering well at home tonight 🐇🐇🐇

We have been very quiet for a while as we have been moving. The bunnies have been on a little holiday while things have been manic.
Today we installed the new Bunny Burrow and the bun buns will be moving in to their new pad next week ❤❤❤

so after lots of very upsetting and heartbreaking events/loss lately, we have a surprise ray of sunshine!

MEET DAISY! A daughter of bertha (rest in peace💕) and basil! She was returned to us from the owner who could no longer look after her. She is so much like her mammy, loves a gingerbiscuit in the morning and coffee (for hooman) catch up chit chat and bounce around the office!

Animals appear at the strangest of times, but very often just when we need them! Thankyou sweet bun for making us smile again, we love youu💕🐰

Meet Eddie the Easter Bunny 🐰

Eddie is a disabled male bunny that was found as a stray. Both his right legs are deformed but this doesnt stop him from getting about!

He is very bright, happy and loves cuddles. He is eating and drinking well and has good body condition. We are currently fostering him while the local vets try to find his owner.

Sorry we have been quiet for a while. We lost 6 of our beautiful bunnies to VHD (viral haemorrhagic disease) within 2 weeks of each other and it has been a very distressing time. 3 of our bunnies were FULLY vaccinated against VHD so it came as a terrible shock.

We still have Bertha, Basil, Barrington (Barry) the continentals, and 5 Netherlands. All are fit well and healthy. Watch this space for update photos xx

One of our beautiful buns from Berthas litter is looking for a new home through no fault of her own. Daisy's owner has developed an allergy to her after having a covid vaccine and very sadly for health reasons can no longer keep her. Daisy is a 22 weeks old female doe, she is a very friendly cuddly house rabbit. She is not neutered or vaccinated.

Bertha is not keen on fireworks so has moved back into her old bedroom in the house for the time being. She looks pretty content and settled in there 😍🐰💜💜

It’s that time of year again, . 🧨

Fireworks are extremely stressful for rabbits, so please take care to ease their stress as much as possible.

🎆 Bring outdoor rabbits inside into an unheated room.

🎆 If not possible, cover enclosures with blankets or duvets.

🎆 For indoor rabbits, soundproof your home by closing windows and doors and leave a radio or TV on to mask the noise.

🎆 Ensure your buns have plenty of hiding places where they can feel safe.

🎆 Lastly, having a rabbit companion will help keep rabbits calm - another reason why you should always have more than one bun.

It has been a very long and hard few weeks/months. You may have noticed our inactivity, we do apologise however, circumstances we couldn’t control crept up and kept on coming.

Last night, after only one day of showing signs of depleted health, our newest family member Bertie sadly passed away while on the way to the vet. He was very well cared for and adored, however, it seems as though he passed from Viral Haemorrhagic Disease (despite being fully vaccinated!)

We are truly devastated and heartbroken and we miss him dearly, we hope he is happy and hopping free wherever this fate has taken him. Rest in peace sweet boy, we love you 💙

Our beautiful lovely boy Bertie very sadly, suddenly and unexpectedly passed away tonight. Our vet suspects Viral Haemorrhagic Disease, even though he was fully vaccinated. To say we are heart broken and devastated is an understatement. Run free beautiful Bertie 💔

These are the last 2 girls from Bertha and Basils litter, we are keeping one and the other is off to her fabulous furever home tomorrow.

We need name suggestions for our baby, in keeping with our B theme! We have already had a rescue bun called Betty...post your suggestions below 🤷‍♀️

It's not just rescue rabbits we care for here, we also take in stray kittens. Oreo and Orla the ferrel kittens are now 6 months old and are still looking for their furever homes.
They are brother and sister and are a very bonded pair. They have been neutered this week and are recovering well. Please share and help us find them a loving home. They are very timid around humans but used to living indoors and litter tray trained.
