Well we've been abit quiet as we've been doing our own training down in Wales.
Really good fun but hard work, and maybe a couple of tears too haha,
But me and the pup are well on the way.
She is now a fully licensed G.P.D
I am over the moon.
One more course to do then we can have a little holiday. Yay!

The only reactive dog I've actually trained that actually was real life reactive!
And I knew there was only one way of solving it (the long way) I spent 6 months grooming and feeding and hammering obedience with Ida on this roundabout, amongst other things.
But I didn't do anything that you would have expected.
The only contact she had in the outside world was me.
Because of this we then became a team and when we did do scary stuff she knew it was going to be worth it because I was right by her side.
This is where I actually started working out what was going on inside of her head.
Once I was there it took me no time at all to get her where I needed to be.
Anywho, she's had a little wobble over winter.
So guess where we went today and guess what we did?

Truth be told...
Us lot have worked 10 days straight
And it's time to go home tomorrow.
I pushed myself and my dogs through something different and for that I'm already pleased with 2024.
Thanks to the main man for looking after me and committing himself to his jobs.

*****AFTER our 5 min chat about what my customer just told me***** Handler takes the lead with confidence and corrected his dog through verbal and physical corrections, when this happens the dog is learning two things : 1. Being corrected isn't fun so over time he will choose not to do so. (Praise and chastisement) 2. Taking control, the dog follows ques through confident and positive body language and relaxed on and off pressure through the lead, when this happens the dog relaxes and takes a step back so he's not a coiled spring ready to react and instead enjoys the walk for what it should be.

***** BEFORE***** I do not believe in distraction techniques, They hem your dog in and shut your dog down hence why they react. Handler isn't in control so the dog takes the lead and because he is shut down and frustrated, he takes it out on other dogs.

I'm not a dog trainer! I am an instructor who teaches owners to train their own dogs! I teach folk to have a relationship with their dog through play and obedience. When the dog wins that's when the magic happens... This video shows that Wendy did not ask for eye contact at all, she asked for the dog to control himself, but because they are on the same wave length he offered more because he has a great relationship with his handler, he always wins which makes him want to learn more and more.
