These people, children are victims of a corrupt system, of lack of responsibility, of disfunctional institutions…

The same institutions that fail the animals we rescue, the inspectors, police, ministries, government have brought about this tragedy as well 😔

Toby was surrendered to us with a strict deadline after being in the home for only several weeks, leaving us with almost no time to arrange and find a foster home suited to his needs.

This was truly heartbreaking, as it highlights how some people disregard a dog's needs and are unwilling to make adjustments to their lives in the way they would if it were a human family member in need.

When you bring a dog into your life, they should be treated as a member of the family. If an animal is in distress and needs you, you should make time for them.

Caring for a living being comes with huge responsibility, and it's sad to see so many people failing to take ownership of that responsibility the moment things become difficult. Dogs are not disposable items that can be cast aside if they no longer fit into your life. They are living beings with emotions, deserving of compassion and the freedom to be themselves.

It was an extremely stressful week for our team to find a foster home at such short notice, but we are so grateful to his foster dad for stepping in, giving Toby a safe environment, helping him find his feet again, and allowing him to adjust to home life after spending many years in a crowded shelter. ❤️

Foster families are of utmost importance to us. You are the stepping stones for these animals, and without your help, we wouldn't be able to continue rescuing them.

We want to take this opportunity to encourage anyone who has the space, time, and willingness to help one of our dogs, many of whom wait for years in kennels, to reach out and change a life for the better just as Toby’s foster family did. ❤️

Are you a dog lover with a knack for social media? Do you enjoy telling stories that make people stop scrolling and take action? If so, we’d love to hear from you!

We’re Strays Without Borders, a UK registered non-profit organisation made up of passionate volunteers who have been rescuing dogs for years. We focus on helping stray dogs in Macedonia, where they face horrendous treatment and have little chance of survival. We’ve made great progress in all aspects of rescue work, but when it comes to the tech side of things, we could use some help! We need someone who can get the word out and make sure these lovely dogs find the homes they deserve.

✔ Social media-savvy – you know how to create engaging posts and spread awareness.
✔ Proactive and full of initiative – these pups have waited too long in kennels...

We always hear people say, “If only rescues made adoption easier…” Well, we do!

Every application is reviewed individually to ensure the best match between adopter and dog. We don’t discriminate based on age or living situation, our priority is finding loving, responsible homes.

Yet, despite this, we have ZERO interest in the amazing dogs waiting for a family, whether in the UK or Macedonia. 😞

We are a registered organization, providing full support and a lifelong safety net for both dogs and adopters.

🐾 Meet Coral! 🐾

This little cutie was rescued from a dangerous situation, found dumped near a busy highway in a box with her siblings. 😔

Coral is a total gem. She's a friendly, playful little rascal who loves to goof about and is all about spreading love. 🥰 At 5 months old, she’s ready for her forever home and would thrive in a home with another doggo to show her the ropes! Coral will need a home where she won't be alone for too long as she’s never lived in a home and will need time & training to adapt.

Coral is fully vaccinated, microchipped, and has a clean bill of health. She's small size but has a big character ^_^

She’s packed her bags and is ready to go, all she needs now is someone to love her and give her a home! 🌟

Currently in Macedonia, but can be adopted anywhere in the UK! 🇬🇧

Crufts Billed as the greatest dog show on earth.

What would have been truly great is if they had switched their emphasis from showing purebred dogs to giving this horrendous rescue crisis airtime and educating people.

Instead of promoting breeders and increasing the demand for puppies they could have encouraged a pause to breeding. They could have recognised that healthy dogs are losing their lives and urged people to rescue instead.

It is so hard to see when the reality for all those in rescue is not being able to save the lives of dogs already in this world. And no recognition from those who run Crufts, The Kennel Club UK, that breeding and buying dogs is what's causing the problem.

We rescued these brothers over the winter because they were at risk…

The smaller one, Rocky has been super lucky and found his home ❤️ we received a lovely video from his adopter from his first trip to the beach and he had an absolute blast 🥰

Ricky ( the slightly larger one) on the other hand is still in kennels 💔
Not a single enquiry…
It’s breaking our heart to see him still waiting in kennels …

Hazel is back in kennels where her journey started couple of years ago 💔😔

We never want this for them, but her nervousness costed her a home and a family.

Going from a foster home back to kennels has been very stressful for our girl. She feels too scared to leave the kennel even though the lovely staff makes every day effort to bond with her and gain her trust 😔

We know there is a home for every dog out there, including Hazel, we just need time to find it.
Hazel needs time to recuperate, to gain some confidence, but this costs us £420 monthly kennel bill for her, which are funds we can not currently afford but have to find a way to get them in order to give Hazel a fair chance to find a family ❤️‍🩹

Lucy is one of our dogs who’s adopter gave up on, and is now in UK kennels 💔
It’s her second month now and it costs the rescue a lot to make sure she is safe…

She’s a young girl who should be now in a home enjoying her life to the fullest, but we have had 0 interest in her 😔

The costs for keeping the dogs in the UK alive and safe puts a huge strain on our funds and we are really struggling to keep up with the recurring costs.

⭕️Our monthly kennel bill stands at £2,100 for the dogs in the UK and £1,080 for those in Macedonia.

Little Aisha is another pup we rescued last November.❤️‍🩹

She and her siblings had been abandoned in a rubbish heap, and by the time the rescuer went to get some more food and came back, all the other pups had been run over by a car. She was the only one left alive, refusing to leave their side... 💔

Needless to say, even though funds are scarce and we had decided not to take in any new dogs until we rehomed those who have been in kennels for years, it was simply impossible to leave her to the fate we knew would inevitably await her.

Aisha has now been in kennels for five months, and she has grown into a playful, brave little girl who loves everyone. She is a joy to be around, and it is impossible not to fall in love with her.

We currently have an outstanding kennel bill of £250 for her stay and need help covering it.

Please consider donating for her. We could not leave her behind, but this meant our kennel bill continued to grow. Keeping these animals safe until they find homes is an expensive "good deed", and without support, we simply cannot continue.

Stig says hi to everyone 💛

He has slowly but steadily changed beyond recognition and seems to have forgotten all about the past as if it never happened! Playing in the common area in the kennels, marking all the walls, telling off to the naught youngesters and simply feeling very much at home!

In just a few months, with proper care, medicine, and love, he has truly blossomed.

We are overjoyed to see him thriving, but as ever, the cost of kennels continues to mount. We must once again ask for your support, both for Stig and for all the dogs in our care. 🙏

Meet Roxi, the little pup with a BIG heart! ❤️ This sweet girl is part of a litter we rescued a few months ago after they were found in a box near a busy road (who does that?! 😡). Luckily, we got them to safety! 🐶
