MIMI IS LOOKING FOR A FOREVER HOME 🥰

📍Currently fostered in Essex.

Mimi was rescued from Macedonia as a puppy and shortly afterwards found a foster home in the UK. Mimi has been thriving in her foster home where she has shown herself to be a cuddly and affectionate companion.

She is making progress with her toilet training, but is still working on letting her humans know when she needs to go. Only a young pup, we’re sure she will pick this and other good habits up in a loving home with consistent training.

🐶Mimi is 6 months old, medium-large size, gets along wonderfully with other dogs and would benefit from being in a home with a confident canine companion to help her feel secure.

She is also great with cats and school age children, making her an excellent choice for a family environment.
Mimi enjoys cuddles and is always eager to be part of the family, bringing joy and love wherever she goes.

RESCUE BACK UP PROVIDED.

Great read for all new dog owners! 🐶

Great read for all new dog owners! 🐶

Too much too soon WILL cause issues.
It is a really common occurrence with newly adopted dogs.

Congratulations on your new dog.
I know you want to take them to the beach, the pet store and your café....however can I ask for a few minutes so I can explain just what your dog has gone through.....and why you need to take the next few weeks SLOW.
Your new dog has had it's whole world turned upside down.
They don't know you.
They don't know if they can trust you.
They don't know if they are with you for an hour or forever.
They may have been in various scary places.
Other houses, rescues, the pound and likely ALL of these in the past few days or weeks.
Your dog has stress hormones surging through their brain, they are STRESSED....they need to decompress, they need STABILITY in their environment and from you.
They need time with you and their new environment.
They need to know that the tree outside may rustle against the house and that's OK.
They need to know that those normal creaky noises in your house are OK and that at 3.45 the neighbours bang their door shut.
They need to know when it rains that tapping sound is OK.
They need to know that when the door opens they won't be moved somewhere else again.
They need to trust that YOU are safe even when you have had a bad day, you will still give them food and that they can close their eyes around you.
You know what your good intentions are with your new dog, your dog however has NO idea what is happening.....only that everything has changed and it is scary.
They do NOT need other new environments yet. Take it SLOW.
Dogs that have just been adopted need TIME. There is no need to rush out the next day and take them to all the places you want to go with them.....They need the opposite.
Let them decompress, let them inspect a new area of your house or yard every day or two. Walk them up and down outside your house for a few days (and only there), let them sniff, and sniff some more. Let them p*e freely.....it may be boring for you, but not for your dog. They need to know what is happening around them and they learn that through their nose, eyes and ears.
They NEED this.
They need to learn to TRUST you.
The long walks can wait, the café will still be there in a few weeks and you can visit the pet shop alone until they are ready.
Your bond together is the MOST important thing to concentrate on right now.
You will never regret taking it slow and it can save your dog and yourself from making the very same mistakes that can lead to people rehoming in the first place.
All the very best with your new dog.

Sometimes, one act of kindness can make the difference between life and death for these dogs. ❤️

Beautiful Alma was a shy girl, scared and uncertain about how she ended up in a shelter surrounded by unfamiliar dogs and people. She would hide from everyone, and rightfully so, as many people don’t treat large shepherd dogs like her kindly.

Alma wouldn’t hurt a fly, but that didn’t matter; in people’s imaginations, all they saw was a large dog posing a potential threat.

To make matters worse, she tested positive for leishmania. In Macedonia, contrary to scientific evidence, some institutions believe that euthanizing dogs with leishmania somehow prevents the disease from spreading. However, these poor dogs are just one of many species that can be infected and are not even the transmitters of the disease which makes their death completely unjustifiable.

With all odds stacked against her, we learned about Alma and put out an appeal, hoping that maybe, just maybe, someone out there would give this girl the chance she had never been given. A guardian angel who would see beyond her circumstances.

Little did we know, such a person existed. By fate, they came across our post. This kind lady offered to foster Alma for as long as needed. She committed to helping Alma find her feet and understood that the transition would be a slow and lengthy process before Alma could become a happy and settled girl.

Sweet Alma boarded the March transport and arrived in the UK to join her amazing foster family.

Slowly but surely, she began to realize that not all people are bad. Her canine siblings showed her the ropes, teaching her how to play, be goofy, and enjoy life as part of a family.

Soon, we started receiving videos of Alma playing, running, and goofing around. It was pure joy for the eyes and the soul. It was hard to believe this was the same shy girl who once hid in every corner to escape human attention.

Not only did Alma manage to become the happiest she’s ever been, but she also won the hearts of her foster family to the point where they could no longer imagine parting with her.

And so, we are thrilled to announce one of the happiest foster fails ever! 💖

We are so grateful to Tracey and her family. We couldn’t imagine Alma with anyone else but them. She has transformed beyond recognition, and we owe it all to them.

Her lifesavers. Her heroes. ❤️

Beautiful, cheeky 3-paw Tinsel is looking for her forever home🐾

Fostered in Kent 🇬🇧

Tinsel is a 4-year-old girl who has overcome incredible odds. Rescued as a 7-month-old puppy, she was pregnant and tragically injured when someone tried to take her life, resulting in her leg being amputated.

Despite this, Tinsel is a happy, active, and bouncy girl who loves playing with other dogs and radiates energy and joy.

Medium-sized, healthy, and full of life, she walks (or rather bounces!) on the lead and adores adventures. Tinsel would thrive in an active home with a garden, preferably with another playful dog and children who are dog-savvy and not too young.

🐶This is how her fosterer describes her:

"She is a very people person, is getting on with the other dogs now as well so could be homed as an only dog or with an easy going dog as she will want to be the top dog.

She is a strong personality very inquisitive walks well on a lead, not too confident in traffic so would probably do well in a country setting rather than in town. Prefers dried food to Butternut box which she has refused to eat, must be the only dog in the Uk that has 😂 She is very cheeky and knows how to give "the look" if she is not happy about something 😅. She is quite a character and knows how to bring humor and joy to those around her. ❤️"

She is neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated, ready to bring her zest for life to a loving forever family! 🐾

Rescue back up provided!

To adopt her please apply here:

Only a small amount remains to be raised, and you have all made this possible!

Thank you to everyone who contributed and helped make this mission a reality. You have given these beautiful dogs a new life, one they have waited for so long! 🧡

The only thing standing between this old girl and her future in a foster home is the missing funds needed to cover her vet bill and transport. 💔

She has never slept on a soft bed. She has spent her entire life as a chained dog, and when she was no longer useful to her owners, they brought her to a shelter for euthanasia.

This girl deserves better; she deserves compassion and kindness. A rescuer took her to kennels, but even there, her life didn’t improve. Imagine waking up every day to the barks of countless unfamiliar dogs and living day after day in a confined space. 😞

This is not what an old girl deserves... it’s not what any dog deserves.

We have been searching for a home for her for months, but to no avail. The only good news for her is that a very kind lady has offered her a foster home, so she won’t have to spend another winter on the cold concrete of a kennel.

PLEASE DONATE TOWARDS HER TRANSPORT COSTS. 🙏
We only have a few days left to raise the necessary funds to give Bobica, and the other poor dogs waiting, a chance.

Time for happy news! 🥳😍

Little Ljubica, now Cleo, has found her forever home and settled in like she's always been part of the family. ❤️

Ljubica was once someone's dog until she was abandoned in a public shelter in Macedonia. She was almost euthanized because she had tested positive to leishmania. However, rescuers who knew that dogs with leishmania can live amazing, asymptomatic lives for a very long time, as was her case, came to her aid.

She waited a long time in the shelter, made friends, but nobody wanted to adopt her... until a foster offer came through!
And so, she packed her modest belongings and joined a lovely pack in Scotland. However, she soon became too fond of the parrots in the home, who, contrary to her preferences, were not food. 😅
As a result, we had to move her to another foster family, where she truly decompressed and found her feet.

Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago, she caught the eye and heart of her now-adopters and has been a loved and spoiled princess ever since!

We couldn't have achieved this without the joint effort of everyone involved. We are so grateful to her rescuers, fosterers, and adopters for being part of her journey, contributing to saving her life and bringing about her new life. ❤️

Help us get distemper survivor Beba to a foster home! 🙏

In the video, you can see that Beba has been left with permanent neurological damage, which causes her to shake. This is a consequence of the distemper virus, which she had to overcome very early in her life.

Beba is a small girl, weighing only 8 kg, but she is incredibly strong and resilient. Very few dogs survive this virus, and even fewer are given a chance at finding a home after surviving it.

Beba received all her treatment in a public shelter in Macedonia. However, now that she has fully recovered and undergone spay surgery, she was due to be returned to the streets.

Fortunately, we have secured a foster home for her in the UK! But we need your help to cover the final steps. We are raising funds for her transport this is truly her only chance to have a better future, one that offers her a life beyond the streets and shelters. 🤞🤞

Beba is only one year old and deserves this chance. Will you help support her? 🩷

Being overwhelmed by the number of dogs needing help and homes, we forgot to share some amazing news with all of you!

A few weeks ago, sweet Teddy, who urgently needed rehoming, found his forever home! He has quickly found his feet and settled into his new home wonderfully, as you can see 😂

Thank you to everyone who shared his story, and a huge thank you to his amazing foster family for stepping up when help was urgently needed!

We are also incredibly grateful to his adopters for giving him a second chance. ❤️

Little Ricky is looking for a foster or forever home 🙏

His brother being more compact in size has now a foster offer, and this would mean Ricky will stay behind which would be heartbreaking 💔

He is a sweet boy and deserves a home as well. He would be best homed with another friendly dog 🤞🤞

He is 1yo, neutered, 19kg, dog friendly, chases cats, good with kids.

Rescue back up provided.

Please share massively to find someone for little Ricky as well 🙏

📣 VERY IMPORTANT 📣

This month, we have worked so hard to help six senior dogs leave kennels and shelters and for the first time in their lives, find homes!

Three of them have been incredibly fortunate to find their forever families, AND the other three and a brave distemper survivor HAVE BEEN OFFERED FOSTER HOMES 🧡.

We are beyond thrilled that they all have this big opportunity, however to make this possible, we urgently need to raise enough funds to cover their travel expenses and outstanding veterinary bills.

You’ve probably read their stories... Some have had near-death experiences, others have lost everyone they loved, and some have never known anything beyond the confines of a shelter.

Every one of them deserves a warm bed this winter and the comfort of living in a home with a loving family.

Please, help us make this dream a reality!

We are looking for a home for Hopper. 🐶

This lovely boy is three-legged and currently living in Bourne🇬🇧.

He hasn’t done anything wrong, but it seems the family’s lifestyle has proven a bit too challenging for him.

We’re looking for an outgoing family with another dog to keep Hopper company. He seems to be missing the companionship of another dog and is happiest when out on walks. Missing one leg doesn’t bother him at all, and he really enjoys his walks.

Hopper 4 yo, neutered, friendly with children and other dogs, and he walks beautifully on the lead. He can be met after a successful home check.

Rescue backup is provided. To adopt him, please apply here: https://strayswithoutborders.org.uk/adoption-process/

Update: We have a foster offer for Stella and Toby! 💕

There have been many well-intentioned suggestions to contact other rescues for help; however, most of them had already been approached by the owner and, due to being full, had to decline. This is why we’ve made an appeal for a foster family, rather than seeking further rescue involvement.

One of the rescues tagged in the post is, in fact, the original rescue that one of the dogs came from.

It's important to understand that rescues everywhere are struggling. The same people are helping hundreds, if not thousands, of animals, and resources, both financial and spatial are limited.

The best way to help isn’t simply by tagging other rescues that are already overwhelmed, but by offering practical help in the form of fostering and support.

We need more people to recognise how dire the situation is for all rescues and to step up, even if it takes them outside their comfort zone.

We can only make a real difference if we all join forces. 💛

A big thank you to those kind people who have already offered to foster, and to everyone who has shared the post!

It’s deeply concerning to witness the state of the world, and sadly, animals are often the first to suffer the consequences. This makes it all the more crucial that we stand together and support one another, particularly during such challenging times. 💛

🚨🚨🚨🚨URGENT AT RISK OF EUTHANASIA 🚨🚨🚨🚨

We are trying to help these two poor disabled dogs from being euthanised 😩

They haven't done anything wrong, their owner is being evicted from her home and as a result they are at immediate risk of euthanasia.

The rescues they came from aren't able to help.
They are a bonded par (6 yo female and 10yo boy) in good health.

They are currently in Oldham Lancashire but we can help with transport.

Please share massively, help us find them a foster or forever home, they deserve to live 😞

🚨HAZEL IS URGENTLY LOOKING FOR A HOME 🚨

Hazel is in urgent need of a home. She is a gorgeous girl but nervous and needs an experienced adult only home in a rural area.

Her other option is to go to a kennel and it would be a huge setback for her and she won’t cope 😞

Hazel is 2 years old, fostered in Surrey but can be rehomed in other parts of the country.

Hazel must be homed with another confident dog because she looks up to dogs for reassurance.

Hazel has developed from a shy girl into a big personality who loves running around the house with her toys. She takes time to warm up to people, but once she gets to know you, she will be your best friend. She is loyal, loving and extremely intelligent. She loves cuddles and has a cheeky, playful personality. She is very obedient, and has learnt a lot of tricks which she is eager to show off. Being a typical shepherd dog, she loves to herd and instinctively protects her home. She bonds incredibly strongly with her ‘special person’, so becomes worried when left alone for too long.

Rescue back up provided.
