*Covid update*

Ours is a small building and several of our staff are not yet fully vaccinated. Should any of our staff test positive we will all have to self-isolate and the practice would have to close for the period. For these reasons we will continue to operate our covid restrictions:

Face masks must be worn in the building - if you do not have one we can supply one free of charge.

Only one person in reception at any time

Thank you for your co-operation.

A message from Tim,

As many of you know, in April 2018 I sold my trading business, Tyne Vet Clinic and we became part of IVC. This was always intended as part of a long term retirement plan. As I have moved into my 60's I feel the time has come!
I have just given IVC a year's notice and will hang up my stethoscope to start my retirement on January 29th 2022 - my 63rd birthday.
I have enjoyed so much the privilege of providing veterinary care for all our clients at Tyne Veterinary Clinic over the last 22 years and will miss them all.
The surgery will continue and hopefully go from strength with a new clinical director to work with my wonderful team! πŸ˜€πŸ˜’

Shona and Tim would like to thank the kind person who nominated them for these awards. It is a great honour and the recognition of what Tyne Vet Clinic is trying to achieve is greatly appreciated :-)

24/12/2020

Wishing all our clients a happy and peaceful Christmas! πŸ˜€πŸ˜€
We will be open again on Tuesday 28th December

Apologies to people trying to phone - problems with the line at the moment. Hopefully it’ll be fixed soon

COVID-19 UPDATE

With the extension of the lockdown announced last week we have decided that the time is right to start offering vaccinations again in the majority of cases. This is to ensure that a population of dogs and cats with "lapsed vaccines" does not develop with the resulting risk of an increase in the prevalence of fatal diseases in these animals. If your pet is due for vaccination please contact the surgery to discuss when this can best be carried out :-)

In addition, it may be appropriate in some cases to carry out routine neutering procedures in dogs and cats to avoid large numbers of unwanted litters - again, please contact the surgery to discuss this :-)

COVID - 19
We have changed things during the current problems to try and maintain essential treatment for our clients' pets, whilst keeping them and ourselves as safe as possible.
We are no longer carrying out routine consultations or surgical procedures but will continue to see pets with problems that are not likely to get better if left.
We are only allowing one person in the waiting room at a time - if you arrive and someone is already in the waiting room, please wait outside.
If you have symptoms that mean you should be self-isolating, please contact us and we will discuss the best procedures for us to see your animal.
If you're not sure if your pet needs to be seen, we will be offering some telephone consultations for a small fee which will be deducted from your consultation fee if we feel your pet should attend the surgery.
We are carrying out increased hygiene measures throughout the premises to minimise the risk of virus spread.
Most of the staff you see will be wearing face masks for their own protection.
We are continuing with our normal opening hours at present.
It would be helpful if you phone the surgery before attending, even if you are only wanting to collect pre-ordered medication.
Thank you for your cooperation with this - as ever, your pets' health remains our primary concern. :-)

18/01/2020

We are looking for a part-time receptionist. Average 24h weekly on a 2 week rota. Week one is mornings, week 2 is afternoon/evenings and Saturday mornings. Some customer service experience desirable. If you are interested or know of anyone who might be, applications with CV to [email protected] or directly to the surgery :-)

31/12/2019

We will be closing at 1.00pm today and re-opening on 2nd January 2020 at 8.30am. We wish all our clients a Happy New Year!

23/12/2019

We will be closing at 1.00pm Christmas Eve and re-opening on 27th December at 8.30am. For emergencies outside opening hours please phone 03309991750

Merry Christmas to all our clients! :-)

My sincere apologies to anyone trying to contact us yesterday - it would appear that there has been a problem with the phone system and calls were not going through to the answer phone with the emergency number. :-(

Time for an update!!
Louise Stannard joined us as assistant veterinary surgeon on 12th February. She has settled in very well and is proving an invaluable addition to our team.
When she's not working she's in training for an Ironman triathlon in June - that's a 2.4 mile swim followed by a 112 mile bike ride followed by a marathon!!! Here's a link to her fundraising page if anyone would like to sponsor her - we also have a sponsor form and are collecting in the surgery :-)

15/01/2018

some of you may already know - we're delighted to welcome back Danielle to our nursing team after far too long away! :-)
