Since there was yet another fabrication order going in, and I’d already done the 1590BB drilling template, why not some workshop templates for myself? Beats constantly reprinting, cutting and folding paper ones.

I’ll get those BBs in store over the weekend, as well as cracking on with the 18 new boards.

You ask, we listen. I’m working through our parts libraries to get everything consistent. Moving forward the build docs, where appropriate, will have two schematics in them. A smaller one on the BOM page with just the part numbers. A second full page version with part values also shown. And why not?

Obviously this doesn’t work for kits with multiple BOMs, such as the Big M**f, but it should be possible 95% of the time.

It was like chucking on an old pair of jeans and finding £50 in the pocket. Putting together the last run of boards and getting a restock of the 3-Band Rats, I saw the gerbers for these two fellas I put together once I knew that one worked OK. In true me style I forgot all about them and they were never fabbed. Now they have been, and they sound great.

Two more versions of the Rat, and I think my favourites yet. One has a standard one-knob Big M**f tone stack and external Ruetz mod pot. The other ditches the Ruetz and has the AMZ Presence M**f-style stack with mid shift.

Wow. Those stacks really make this an entirely different ballgame.

Topped off with FET boost at the output and three-way clipping switch FTW.

We were out of the four channel Spluffer boards so took the opportunity to rework it for film caps. Back in store over the weekend.

I knocked over the board cleaner so yes, it looks a little messy.

As if it wasn’t busy enough with orders, along come 16 new PCBs to build. Admittedly, three are just reworkings of exist...

As if it wasn’t busy enough with orders, along come 16 new PCBs to build. Admittedly, three are just reworkings of existing boards that needed a restock, but the rest are spanky new. There are already 15 more in the basket ready for fabrication. Phew.

Watch this space for many a build report in the next week or two.

Oh, and a much requested 1590BB drill template with lots of kit-specific options.

Since there’s likely to be a big batch of PCBs arriving tomorrow it was high time to get onto some of those still waiting to be built from the last lot.

Not sure why it’s taken until now to do the UglyFace. What a bunch of fun that is! Nasty, fuzzy, glitchy semi-chaos. In store soon.
