Our Story

It all started in Australia!

Yes that’s right, on the other side of the world! After several years of travelling the world doing lots of house sitting we found ourselves in Perth, Australia. There we met our best friend Sami (Border Collie x Kelpie) and adopted him straight away. After one year of travelling the west coast together he mentioned that he would rather be in a cooler country, so we took him all the way back to the UK where the Gosdogwalking story began.

We all enjoyed the cooler countryside and beach walks around Northumberland and we noticed how many dogs there were in this beautiful part of the country. When we finally started working full time we had to leave Sami at home alone and hired a Dog Walker to take him out during the day. This was not ideal as we were used to spend 24/7 together and working inside an office was never fulfilling to me. Sami was not too happy either, being confined in a flat was new to him and he did not take it too well. That’s when I started to work part time and decided to take other dogs on our adventures. Sami made many new friends and we all had such a good time that we finally decided that this is the life we want to live: outside in nature surrounded by happy dogs.

We made our dream come true and started Gosdogwalking, offering what many people with full time jobs can’t always offer their own dogs: Being outside having a fun time and making new friends!
