I am 52 - Canβt tell a duck from a goose ππ€ππ . Either way it was a pleasure to have these guys with us even if only for a few hours.
Sorry as We have not been on Facebook this season - But we have taken in quite a few Gulls from the local area . Weβve also had two ducks π¦ ......
Some birds just steal your heart β₯
Last supper here for these guys . They're going over to Bird Aid tomorrow
We've not had any birds here for about 3 weeks other than my regulars who visit daily. These two came over this afternoon , they seem quite happy . They've been playing for the last half hour . I fed them whitebait with morio and mealworms. They ate the fish quickly but then seem quite confused about the live food , it took them a few hours but eventually one got eaten .
We just answered an SOS and picked up this cheeky fella from round the corner... I brought him into the house to check there were no obvious injuries . He hopped straight out of the box as I opened it and began strutting his stuff , up and down , cocking his head n peering round corners , absolutely no fear . As i got him a bowl of water from the kitchen he jumped up onto my sofa and stole a chip off my plate ...I'd only just sat down to eat when I got the message about him so I'd left my plate on the sofa next to where I was sitting and gone to go get him .
I watched him for about ten minutes....He stole more of my dinner ( almost professionally ) but has no etiquette what so ever when it comes to eating live food ...the Morio worms , a special treat i gave as an offering got flung all over his box , then he decided to take a swagger through the kitchen out into the gatden to fully take in his surroundings... He's now safely tucked away in bed in the avaiy .
It's facinating how each and every bird has its own unique personality ...
