Hello everyone, it’s me Bear!! Today KWL came over and we all went for a lovely walk. I was really excited to see everyone again and we ran about for hours in some new fields I’ve never been to before. I’m still looking for my forever home and would love an owner who is very active and will take the time to train me. I am a very loving boy and have a cheeky personality.

Today the KWL came to see me, she brought my buddies and a new dog called Ted. we all went for a lovely walk together and I got to show KWL how much my car chasing has improved. She also brought me a lovely present that was kindly sent to me from The Animal Health Company, I’ll enjoy sharing that with Lulu later. I would really like a home of my own, I can be a bit barky sometimes when I get excited but I make up for it with kisses and cuddles and making you laugh.

Today the KWL came to visit again and brought my mates Barry and Tilly. I love it when they come as we go for lovely walks through the countryside and I have someone to run and play with. I showed KWL how well I’m doing with traffic but she says my recall, especially around other dogs, needs some work. I tried stowing away in KWL’s car but she spotted me and said I had to stay with foster mummy for now until someone wanted to adopt me.

Hi everyone, Bear here! Today I had a suprise visit from the KWL and my buddies Barry (who I have a crush on) and Tilly. We went for a wonderful windy walk across the fields and did lots of running around and shouting at squirrels. My foster mum is very pleased with how I’ve settled in. She said I’m one of her more ‘energetic’ foster dogs but after a couple of weeks I’ve calmed down a bit and have repaid her kindness in cuddles.

Bear is a neutered 2 year old (on November 4th ) Kelpie x collie. He is a very loving and affectionate boy and is full of character, he loves his tummy rubbed and snuggling up for a cuddle. He lived with a family but has found the household too busy so will need a more quiet setting where he can learn to relax with someone who has the time to continue his training.

He is trained with German commands but is responding well to learning English ones. Bear loves interacting with his person when there are no distractions, he loves his ball and would benefit from a job to do . He does like other dogs and has dog friends but he is over the top excited, barky & bouncy so his new friend would need a lot of patience until this is worked on. He can sometimes be reactive on lead, especially around cars and bike, and can be selective in which dogs he chooses to spend time with.

He is a car and bike chaser so this will need work, is crate trained and can be left for a few hours. Bear can sometimes be a bit growly if he’s unsure of something, eg. Didn’t like having his medical vest being put on and taken off and can be the same with a body harness, he will benefit from desensitiation. He has never taken this further but he must be listened to to prevent him from escalating. Bear lives happily with a cat, he wants to play but is very gentle with her. He is unsure of new cats and will bark so time and safety measures need to put in place when introducing to a new cat. He isn’t a resource guarder but in a new situation care must be taken.
