βοΈπ₯³ANNOUNCEMENT NUMBER 2π₯³βοΈ
As part of our additional services to include bathing grooming and oral health care @bonniesbathsandbubbles
From January 2024 we are also fortunate to be able to offer a pure natural healthy dog treat store -
πDarceyβs Doggy delights of Newport π
Working with a local dog health food supplier we will be offering the very best in dog treats for our fur babies
Whilst our shop space wonβt be very big to start we will be developing an online store and hope to expand this even further in March 2024 with new premises - watch this space !!!
We will be putting together our catalogue and samples over the next few weeks
And just like that after three and a half years of intense training and support - Bella achieves off lead freedom !!
For a dog that always used to go awol the minute her lead was unclipped - she now stays close , checks in regular - goes off to play on cue and comes back on recall !
Sheβs definitely a pawsitive pooch !
And Iβm a very proud mumma !!!

Sometimes just sitting and βignoringβ is enough !!!
Building trust and confidence takes time - even the biggest of dogs may find the presence of another person ( or the absence of their trusted guardian) more than they are able to process
Just BEING IN THE MOMENT with a dog can bring its own rewards
Scatter feeding is an easy way to calm a dog, to engage their brain, to soften their excitement and to get them focused away form distractions
Look at this beautiful boy loose lead walking x
I enjoy π practicing proximity recall and off lead freedom -
Look out for ferries checkins with Dylan , with me and with his environment
Notice how close he keeps to us
See how he responds to a trialing lead
And watch as he realises Iβm hiding and he comes to find me !!!
This week genius level training is focusing on play
WHEN I SAY TO OWNERS I TRAIN THROUGH PLAY - This is what I mean
A ball has always been Bellaβs favourite play toy - but tennis πΎ balls and footballs β½οΈ donβt last more than five minutes
So Iβve treated her to a boomer ball !
At four years old making sure Bellaβs weight remains stables is also one of my main priorities given that she doesnβt have a walk everyday ( weβre still building her novelty and reactive issues )
So this is a perfect way for her to use some energy and have fun at the same time
πΎ We are building up arousal and then putting in a behaviour cue to lower the arousal and testing her dimmer switch and self control
πΎ we are using directional cues to help Bella understand focus
πΎwe are exploring tolerance of frustration when she gets it stuck and needs to move it forward
πΎ we are are growing grit and perseverance as she continues to work out how to make the ball go int he way she wants it
πΎ we are developing confidence and optimism - learning that life is full of great things
Bonnie is still working on disengagement from Bella when sheβs playing so sheβs been doing some tug training - video to come later - they are so very different in their play choices
Our play is :
*Noisy
*Fast
*Crazy
*Stimulating
*High energy
* Relationship building
* Exciting
* Joyful
* Happy
