WARNING! It's well and truly 'Tick Time'!
I'm finding AT LEAST 1 a day whilst working in the salon and even found one on my Batty dog yesterday and he's never had one before (or I've never seen/found one on him before!)
Above is some Tick Tips to help look out for them.....getting them off your lovely woof is simple, either use a Tick removal tool OR pop a blob of thick cream on the little blighter and massage/rotate until it drops off (I find the second a lot less fiddly than the tools and it always comes off in full ready to squish and dispose of)

Since losing Robbie dog (Mum and Dads dog/my receptionist/customer welcome dog) we have moved into our 'new home' adjoining the main house at New Farm! Ernie, Mum and Dads other dog who isn't a fan of cats has been pestering to come in! With a slow introduction (and close monitoring) he has been allowed in more and more and is now obsessed! Love having him visit for snoozes!

With a heavy heart and tears in my eyes, I have to tell you all that our lovely Robbie dog of New Farm went over Rainbow Bridge yesterday morning. He was a lovely chap, not a bad bone in his body, loved his family and friends to infinity and beyond. Had a fantastic appetite, raided many a bin, barked endlessly at all people in yard for treats and will be sorely missed by all that met and knew him!
Sleep well my Black hairy Brother, I'll miss your loud barks of excitement on our arrival to work, your lovely shiny twinkly coat and those gorgeous therapy ears ###

Hello my beautiful lovely customers! I mentioned to most of you before Christmas that I would need to increase my prices in the New Year as I've stayed pretty much the same since I opened up!
Most of you I have spoken to were surprised I hadn't already with the increase in electric costs and the price of living! It's not just the electric though, maintenance of my tools, cost of replacement blades etc and shampoo and conditioner have also gone up! I'm (so far) lucky I'm not charged for our bore hole maintenance because as you can imagine I use an awful lot washing your beautiful doggies!
Please don't be afraid to ask if I've not already quoted the increase, as I can't just do a 'Price list' as all the dogs are different in more than one way or another, just like us Humans!
I hope that you'll all support me in this decision and I look forward to seeing you and your woofs again soon!

Lovely morning down Rosevidney Livery Stables judging the Cornwall Trec Group Quadrille team dog show!
Such a lovely atmosphere, with real characters of all shapes and sizes and possibly the loveliest classes to judge! 🥰
After a night of cough and cold, this is how I felt after the final class! Shadow summed it up perfectly!

Oh Oscar 💔💔💔 almost a year to the day I first groomed dear little worry wart Mummy's boy Oscar....he has gone over 🌈 rainbow bridge. 😪😪Such a shock to hear the news after his lovely Mum called me initially thinking the little Scamp had got sausage packaging stuck in his gut... and later recieved a text to say it turned out to be a tumour on the pancreas and couldn't be saved.
Oscar was a nervous soul and took a lot of confidence building to get his grooms done in the early days, but the last few times his Mum and I were so pleased with how much he'd improved over time and I'd even get kisses whilst I groomed him!
I love dogs in general all shapes and sizes, my own dogs are my family, my family dogs are like relatives to me and my customers are just an extension of this! I love them all!
RIP Oscar you lovely funny sensitive boy, I'm glad we made that bond ###
Cuddle all my woofy customers tonight, I love them all, even the Sassy ones! ###

Best Puppy/Junior, Most Handsome Dog, Prettiest Bitch, Best Veteran, Best Pedigree, Best Crossbreed, Best Rescue, Happiest Face, Waggiest Tail, Dog the Judge would most like to take home. £1 per class.

On Sunday we have: -

🐕Have-a-Go Dog Agility

🐕Gun Dog Demonstration

🐕Fun Dog Show - Same classes as Saturday.

🐕 Fun Agility Competition - Classes - Fastest Dog, Loudest Dog, Funniest Dog.

Dogs are very much part of our rally. As always we ask you to do these three things.

1 - Clean up after your dogs.
2 - Keep your dogs on a lead at all times.
3 - Look after your dogs, so no one else has to.

Groomed Mr Chicco the Kokoni from Greece. (He gets very hot and suffers so has a clip off in hot months....ironic coming from Greece to Sunny Cornwall, I know!) Anyway, having just returned from a much needed Holibob with family and friends I spoke to Chiccos Dad and turns out he was from just round the corner that we stayed in Rhodes!
I was brought to tears by his Dad.....Chicco used to scrounge food at the hotel and run off with it, he was followed a few times and would always end up dropping it off to his mate a GSD who was chained up.
Dogs melt my heart completely! ❤️
Chicco has probably been coming to me over a year now (but no more than every 3 to 4 months or so between grooms) and although he doesn't ENJOY his groom, he trusts me, I get cuddled into now and today had licks on the nose from him!
I'm so tired from my holiday ....got back 2am Thursday morning, groomed 2 dogs in afternoon that were overdue and desperate....5 yesterday with my helper and 5 today on my own. If I didn't love dogs so so much it would be torture! Today I woke up and could quite easily have cancelled appointments, but the thought of letting my woofs down/not seeing them kills me and I give myself a good kick up the bum, audio books on the Alexa and have the best day!
Absolutely LOVE my job! 🥰
Kinda love holidays more.....just need to see more dogs whilst there! Only saw 2 in a week?! And none to cuddle or stroke?!!! What the........?!!!

Can all my lovely friendly beautiful customers book my Furry friends in for next appointment STRAIGHT after their grooms! I'm struggling to say no to requests for last minute grooms (I'm a sucker for my Furry friends) but with my youngest starting school in September I NEED to have more time with him and the big 2! I'm running about 5 to 6 weeks ahead, barely have cancellations and don't want any dog to suffer or any customer dissapoointed! My books are pretty much closed to new customers as I just can't do them all....as much as it saddens me!

Dear little cuteness ball of ginger Paddy came for his first big boy groom yesterday! Struggling in the heat and being an active young chap he had wayyyy too much floof, as handsome as he was and Mum wanted it all off! Paddy is a bit of a Mummy's boy (aren't they all?!) and Mum was worried he would be a bit of a nervous Ned, he wasn't! He was a warrior! Took it all in his stride apart from the blast drier.....which to be fair could have blown this little chap out the window!
Paddy you are such a good boy and welcome back anytime! ###

One of my lovely customers' daughters got married at the weekend. A groom for the MAIN man and love of the brides life needed a spruce up the Sunday before and being fully booked and the bridal party needing the previous Saturday to do things Sunday was the only day free!
Poor Eddie was going to be dressed in a suit that Nanny had bought, but he is far too cool and stood rigid whilst in it! A good riding friend who is amazing with a sewing machine was called in! Becky makes all the collars and leads etc that I sell at super reasonable prices in the salon! (Give her a request or the fabric and she is your girl!) Only asked for a matching collar and lead but Becky whipped up a matching tie too! She is amazing! Eddie attended and was a witness to signing the wedding register! What a beautiful day for a lovely funny brilliant family! Congratulations! And well done Edward for stealing the show! 🥰

My Bell Bells Little stone loving Bellaroo was my shadow today at the yard! She made friends with a regular nervous dog and decided to come in the salon and hang out and hold his paw....a go to work with Mum day! Love this little goat dog! So independent and cuddle dodging if you want one, but will hop on your lap or sit by your side if she decides she wants love! ❤️ ❤️

Lovely boy Herbie or Herbivore/Herbs as I like to call him! Came in for his 3 monthly groom today! Such a handsome and lovely easy going chap! Plenty of conditioner and a whole lot of lovely smelling shampoo later and he bounced out to greet Mum and Dad! Absolutely 100% love my job, cuddles and kisses with lovely dogs all day long! It's just the best! ❤ ❤️ ❤️ ✂️

8 years ago I lost my absolute dog of a lifetime! Howard would've rolled in soooo much poo if he knew I'd be a dog Groomer now! An absolute legend to the core, famous Uncle (Rick Steins Chalky) but Howie made his own fame! Turned people that feared dogs into lovers of him, was an extra play mate/sibling to my older children, a comfort blanket through some of my hardest days and generally a joy to own! Everyone has or should have a dog of a lifetime and Howard/Bernard/Howie/Dingo dog was mine! He is always with me in my heart! And the thought of leaving this world one day (hopefully a long way a way) and him greeting me makes me smile ear to ear! ###
