Bailey is a dog who loves different sensory experiences😃
Sniffs absolutely everything, tries to snack on many various herbaceous plants along the hedgerows, but most recently water 💦 it’s the most fascinating thing to her 😆🥰
I love helping and watching the confidence in dogs grow, especially when they’re as keen as she is 🐶❤️
Wonderful Winnie ❤️🐶
A vet offered euthanasia for this dog because of her behaviour/nervousness…. 🤦🏼♀️
When I met this little lady about 4 sessions ago, she arrived with a muzzle and she acted slightly like a Tasmanian devil 🙈 pooping herself at the sight of the grooming table, lunging and snapping at me and all grooming tools, I could tell immediately that this stemmed from fear.
My patients, consistency, experience and understanding for all sorts of different behavioural issues has certainly helped Winnie to become more confident throughout the grooming process, and today we had love 💕
I’m so proud of this little lady and super pleased that your owner believed in you enough to reject euthanasia, she lives a wonderful happy life full of walks and love from her family 🐶❤️
Seek to understand🐶💕💭
Bailey practicing her loose lead walking and engagement today❤️
Considering when i first met this dog she’d pull on a lead to the point of making herself sick, had major reactivity to most people and animals that she didn’t live with, would hit the ground or try to hide in the hedge and squint when cars went by, lshe’s also had double cruciate ligament replacements, is a rescue who was isolated for the first 2 years of her life, and had been very misunderstood. This dog has been through so much in such a short space of time and is yet one of my most eager, keen to please, switched on clients. I’m so proud of how she’s coming on and growing in confidence. ❤️🐶❤️
Massive welldone to Rosie 😍👏🐶
Second desensitisation session, no lunging or biting today, just a couple of little barks.
A few days ago she was screaming just at the sight of the table. After some reassurance and consistency today she mastered jumping on and off the table, whilst the clippers were buzzing away in the background.
She’s such a sweetheart, loves a cuddle and a kiss, our bond is growing nicely 🥰🐶
Rosie did really well during her first grooming session with me. Unfortunately previously she has had a bad experience at the vets, since then she has developed major fear aggression.
The groom room is a huge trigger for her, as she has negative association with a grooming/vet table because of her previous experience, resulting in her having distressing melt downs.
I wasn't able to get near her at the start, immediately she launched at me trying to bite. I decided to take the grooming session to do some desensitisation work and confidence building with her so that she can build trust in me and the environment. Also taking time to create positive association with the muzzle, as she was trying to attack them when put near her.
Two hours later by the end of the session she’d have a cuddle and was taking treats from me and by putting her face in the muzzle.
I look forward to continuing working with Rosie regularly to help modify her behaviour to build trust so that she’s happy, confident and she can be cared for safely by humans. 🐶🥰
