UPDATE: Thank you all for the likes and share - these little ones have now been rehomed! 🎉❤

❤LOVING HOME NEEDED ❤

These gorgeous little kittens were rescued by a member of the NVC team after the mother cat was sadly hit by a car. They are approximately 8 weeks old and while still quite nervous, are slowly coming around to the team looking after them and are very sweet. 🥰

We would love to find them a loving home, ideally together. If anyone is interested in offering these two little beauties a forever home, please get in touch with us on 028 30262266

⛱🌞HEAT WAVE PENDING.... 🌞⛱

With the potential of a heat wave heading our way, please be mindful of your pets in the hotter days to come.

Our furry friends do not cope as well in the hot weather as we do, unlike us, sweating is not the primary method of reducing temperature or temperature regulation in dogs and cats. Therefore they find it very hard to cool down once they overheat.

Cats are more likely to get sun burn, especially our white furry friends. Applying cat friendly sunscreen to their ear tips and nose can help prevent serious sun damage.

If you suspect your dog or cat may have heat stroke, apply wet cold towels to your pet, and phone us straight away on 028 3026 2266.

Did you know that dogs can donate blood? 💉🩸

Many ill or injured pets need blood transfusions, so it’s important that practices have access to a ready supply of blood on hand.
To become a blood donor (which is a simple procedure), dogs should meet the following criteria:

✅Aged over one but under 8 years old
✅Weigh over 25 kilos
✅Be fully vaccinated
✅Not travelled abroad
✅Not on medication

Keep a close eye on your rabbit's hygiene and living environment, especially during warmer months. Regularly check for any signs of soiled fur, wounds, or unusual behaviour.

🔎Prevention is key: ensure your rabbit's living space is clean and dry, and consider using flystrike prevention methods recommended by your vet.
🚨If you suspect flystrike, seek veterinary assistance immediately. Early detection and treatment are crucial for the well-being of your furry friend.

As we enter June we are all hoping some fabulous summer weather is on it's way! ☀️

Should a heatwave hit, remember to think twice about when is best to walk your dogs! Summer walks are fun, but, they can turn dangerous quickly in the heat. Dogs are susceptible to heatstroke, which can be fatal.

And, while the air temperature might seem bearable, remember that the pavement can be scorching hot for our furry friends' paws .If you can't hold the back of your hand to the pavement for 5-7 seconds, it's too hot for your dog's delicate paws.

Keep your furry friend safe by walking them during cooler times of the day, stick to grassy areas if possible and provide plenty of water breaks.
