6 weeks ago Max, an SBT x Mastiff was a real handful to walk on a lead, pulling, lunging and reactive. His owner contacted us for help. Here he is Joining the February Big Dog Walk. Tim (owner) and Max have done a brilliant job following a training program and the results are here for everyone to see.
British trains - Saturday 8/2/25 incident on the line at Taunton so cross country cancelled all trains. No information provided to customers. It’s bitterly cold and no one is providing information, staff have no idea because they’re GWR and trains are cross country… absolute bloody shambles. Totally unacceptable.
Say hello to Diezel. Brother of Jaxson who was successfully re-homed last year. Sadly Diezel is also looking for a forever home. More information can be found at https://southwestgsdrescue.org.uk/ #d4dogwalkingtrainingbehaviour #rescuedog #germanshepherdsofinstagram #dogwalking #germanshepherd
Dogs play to learn, to practice key behaviours and to build bonds. Here Otis (Doberman) & Rosie (DDB) practice working together to tackle a target much bigger than them. Milo (LGD) is easily able to dominate the dogs on their own - but together, as a team… not so much. #d4dogwalkingtrainingbehaviour #rescuedog #playbasedlearning

Bit of a fiesty start to the big dog walk yesterday!
Commentary by Milo.
But the real joy of the Big Dog Walks is we know that dogs get excited, big dogs can be loud - but we all take it in our stride and don't judge!
Today’s big dog walk was genuinely BIG!
At 21 dogs plus owners it equals the largest number of dogs we’ve had on a walk. But by weight of dog, or height of dog today was definitely the biggest! Including 3 Great Danes, a Mastiff, 3 Anatolian Shepards, a Spinona and an Alabai!
All perfectly behaved and the owners were pretty good as well!
Plus quite a few smaller breeds!
Walking your dog should be an enjoyable experience.
Such a shame that some dog owners are so entitled that they ruin it for others - they cannot understand/or care that their off lead, bouncy Labradors should not be allowed to rush up to every dog they see.
When a dog walker with a dog on a lead asks you politely to call your dogs back, they’re not being rude, nor are they telling you to put your dogs on a lead in an area that dogs are allowed off lead.
They’re looking out for their dog who might not want two dogs coming up to him.
Call you dog back, apologise if they caused a problem and be on your way.
Don’t start aggressively protesting that dogs are allowed off lead, that’s not the issue, it’s your lack of attention and failure to take responsibility for your dog’s behaviour that’s the issue.
Consideration and a little courtesy is all that’s necessary for everyone to get along.
Rant over.
Regardless of the weather little Milo wants his walk! #d4dogwalkingtrainingbehaviour #dogwalking #pomeranian
