This week 5 young horses had first rides with me. with 0 bucks, 0 worries, 100% good experiences, 100% happy and ready for their second ride. Those are the stats I like to achieve with every young horse

Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.

I was touched to receive a thank you card and chocolates today for my help with a young horse that had an extremely serious accident in a trailer after a foolish human tried to rush and force the young mare on.
It's been months for the physical damage to heal and it was a big challenge to repair the mental damage with today being the young mares ultimate test, to load and travel to a new yard. She not only walked on board calmly and quietly but traveled, arrived and unloaded completely relaxed and unphased.
Every horse I help is special and important to me and I often have more extreme cases referred to me like this but horses should not need to go through this kind of thing.
People just need to invest a bit of time on a young horses education to set up a good future for them just as anybody would do with their own children and not just assume they can force them through these experiences and expect them to 'make it'.
I am grateful I could help this mare and her loving owner through this and hope they gone on to have a great future.

A client said to me today "I'm worried about making mistakes".
I gave the reply "making mistakes is essential if you are to learn the right way forward, it's repeating your mistakes you should try not to do".
