Kelly has spoken at many seminars, successfully competed and won at competitions including 2 best in show wins, two time speaker of the year nominee and was a judge at mastergroom 2016.

We were placed first in our class 🥰🏆🏆🐩 was also so proud to be on the podium next to not one but two of my lovely ex students!! 😍😍

✂️ Small Class Sizes - The KJG Dog Grooming Academy is a small scale academy taking on just 4 students at one time. Because of this you can be assured you will get maximum one on one tutor time.

👩‍🎓 Expert Instruction - Our tutors bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the academy. They are extremely experienced with over 22 years in the industry and each holding qualifications in dog grooming, teaching and First Aid. Kelly has qualifications up to level 4 & 5, has won several accolades and has been trained by some of the best groomers in the world.

📚 Variety of Learning Techniques - We use a variety of teaching methods including theory work, one on one learning, group learning, educational game based learning, shadowing days, demonstrations and of course, hands on grooming with real dogs. During your course you will be given real dogs to work on and you will be grooming from start to finish. We will cover a wide variety of styles, techniques, breeds and coat types. We are more than happy to give extra help and guidance to students that may be struggling with the theory side of the qualifications.

🤝 Ongoing Support - We will always go the extra mile to help and support our students long after they have graduated. All of our students know we are always at the end of the phone if they need any advice. Our students are not just another number to us, we make life long connections.

🐶 Real Training Dogs - The training dogs at the academy are real customers so we are able to show you real life situations such as different customer requests, problems that may occur during grooming and a variety of different behaviours and health statuses. These experiences will prepare you for running your own business.

📲 Day to Day Running of a Business - As well as being an academy, we are also a working salon. You will see daily customer interactions, learn how to set prices, manage your diaries and how to follow a time schedule in your own salon.

📆 Flexible Learning Options - We understand everyone’s work and home life is different. That is why we do everything we can to accommodate our students requests. Our courses run Tuesday to Friday 9am - 3pm. You can choose to attend from one to four days per week.

“I first decided to undertake some training with Kelly in 2018. After only 3 years in grooming I lacked confidence in my own abilities and was on the verge of giving up grooming.
I owe it all to Kelly for saving my career and making me the groomer I am today. She taught me so much, even something as basic such as fluff drying helped to improve my grooms considerably. Kelly was even kind enough to travel to me as I was still a very new and very nervous driver at the time, living about 2 hours away in Bristol.

Kelly helped me gain my very first recognized grooming qualification, the OCN level 3 diploma and has since helped me with top up training, teaching me breeds and styles I haven’t practiced before or am struggling with.

The knowledge and skills Kelly taught me then went onto help me pass my city and guilds exams and aswell as gaining the confidence to give online grooming competitions a go around 2021 where I won 1st place in Asian Fusion freestyle class with Zoo Groom and 3rd place in a class in an international grooming competition. Now 6 years down the line I’m a much more confident and faster groomer with a very successful business, producing quality grooms and I owe it all to Kelly’s support throughout the years.”

“Going to KJG Dog Grooming Academy was the best possible decision I could have made for my career. I originally learnt to groom through an in-house training programme within a large grooming company. A year after completing this training, I wanted to gain a recognised qualification and I wanted to push myself to become a better groomer. After extensive research on the best schools and academies, I reached out to Kelly at KJG Dog Grooming Academy. We spoke thoroughly about what I was hoping to achieve by undertaking the course and it all sounded perfect - so I booked a space, without any hesitation. I was really hoping to gain more experience with the cute round faces and Asian fusion influence and Kelly’s grooming style was exactly what I aspired to be like. The course itself was amazing, incredibly in depth and it covered a huge variety of breeds, trims and grooming styles. It also covered lots of theory. Nothing was ever too much trouble for Kelly - even if it meant messaging me to help answer any questions I might have had! The course was very trailered to me independently, Kelly listened to what I was hoping to improve on and focused the course around that, as well as covering all other aspects of grooming. I completed the course 5 years ago now and I still continue to have a great friendship with Kelly and Gill and I know that they would both always be on hand if I ever needed them. For the first couple of years after graduating, I would often message them with queries and pictures of grooms and get lots of helpful feedback. I have since been to many of Kelly’s seminars and have also attended one to one training days on my standard poodle that is in a show coat. Alongside my partner, I now currently own the Tiverton Dog Centre, that see’s over 300 dogs a week. The grooming salon is fully booked and thriving and we currently employ other groomers that groom alongside myself. I’ve gone on to place in multiple grooming competitions, including winning Best in Show at Salon Groomer of the Year 2023. Kelly continues to offer me endless support and encouragement. I truly believe that I would not be the groomer that I am today without Kelly and Gill, I learnt so much more than just grooming on their course, including how to run a successful grooming business. I cannot recommend this course highly enough, from the practical, the theory, the support and the friendships that are made.”
