New puppies learning life long skills.

Week Three is my favourite week. We practice our polite greetings, positive interactions and learn what socialisation is really all about. Lots of myth busting 🥊

Setting your puppy up for success when greeting others (human and dog!) is soooo important.

Great session with Skywalker!

He’s only been in his new home for a short while and he was finding the great outdoors a bit overwhelming.

He has been very much loved for his whole life. His new family just wants to build his confidence and allow him to live his best life.

�� Changing the Narrative on Muzzled Dogs! ����

Muzzles are a sign of responsible ownership, not something to fear. Yet, they’re still misunderstood by the public. It’s time to change that.

✨ Muzzled & Misunderstood is a ground breaking book celebrating muzzled dogs and their amazing guardians. Created by photographer Diane Gollowitzer, this project will showcase stunning portraits of muzzled dogs enjoying life, paired with heartfelt letters from their humans. The goal is to challenge misconceptions, educate, and show that muzzled dogs can be happy, loved, and full of adventure!

You might know Diane as the official DogX photographer since the very first event (back when it didn’t even have a name!). Her dog Deedee was even a demo dog for Simone Müller last year! Now, she’s using her skills to give a voice to muzzled dogs everywhere.

How You Can Get Involved

If you have a muzzled dog or know clients who do, this is their chance to be part of something special! The book will highlight dogs from all backgrounds—whether they wear a muzzle for reactivity, predation, breed-specific legislation, vet visits, or anything in between.

Building confidence through Mantrailing.

This gorgeous boy joined us last week for his first Mantrailing session. He’s only 18 weeks old and needs a confidence boost around people.

We took it totally at his pace. In fact we didn’t even get as far as trailing but we allowed him to approach in his own time, take scent from the missing person’s scent article and take his rewards from the floor and from his person.

It was a slow and steady session which worked for him and his human.

I’m excited to watch his progress over the next few weeks

Last week we missed Tilly the German Shepherd in our Sensitive Scent Work class 😢

But that did leave us with 4 sausages who each took turns in the classroom building confidence and resilience through Scent Work.

Wallace, Teddy Pom-Pom, Harry and Timothy had the best time. It’s amazing how quickly our dogs can pick up new skills!

Never underestimate a dachshund, they have amazing noses!

My first ‘Youth Club’ class was a hit!

Lots of focus games, polite greetings, confidence building and just hanging out and practicing being calm.

So proud of how well everyone coped and with the positive feedback afterwards.

A spot of Sunday afternoon shopping with this one



It’s great, he doesn’t complain, waits patiently and doesn’t ask you how much things cost! 🤣

On a serious note, there are lots of local shops that allow dogs. It makes a great alternative to a walk, lots to explore, lots to sniff and no other dogs in sight.

Exploring new places builds confidence, resilience and is great for those sensitive dogs.

What a super Mantrailing session!

These guys have been learning some fantastic skills. We’ve been practicing choices at junctions, back trails, and the humans have been working really hard on their line handling and being able to read their dog.

How often do we only ever feel one emotion?

Often if we are sad there are so many more that go with it too, hopeless, lost, alone, it’s normally more than just sad.

The same goes for dogs, a dog that is barking and lunging on the lead isn’t always aggressive or nervous, sometimes they are frustrated.

This little chap is a bundle of conflicted thoughts and emotions. He wants to say hello and gather information via sniffing another dog but sometimes his lack of confidence can mean his interactions are unsuccessful.

These dogs need extra support to guide them into positive interactions and teach them what to do when they get there. If left to their own devices it would definitely go pear shaped at times. Managing their interactions and ensuring they have other options available is part of the way of setting them up for success
