Right peeps, these are the last groom updates for a couple of weeks as I am having a small operation tomorrow so will be off all work following for a couple of weeks after!

Aslan, the 11 month old maine c**n had his 2nd groom with me this morning. He is such a fluff ball and his coat gets easily matted.

Aslan is new to the grooming process so it takes him a little while to chill out. The lick e lix did not work this week - he was on to us, but thankfully the silvervine was a nice distraction instead 😆.

I clipped some mats out from his groin and trousers, gave him a good sanitary trim and a thorough de-shed all over his coat. Aslan also had a claw clip and an eye and ear clean. His paws are hauuugggee - he's gonna be a big boy once he's fully grown I think!

Billy (ginger short haired) had his usual 6 weekly claw clip today also, as well as Dobbie and Max and Samson and Ziggy. No photos of these 3 though.

I got to meet sweet, gentle, playful Ophelia, the 2 and half year old Siberian yesterday for a groom.

Ophelia had been to the vets to have some matting removed so her mum and dad wanted her tidying up.

She was very inquisitive and came over to sniff all of my equipment, so I knew this was a good start. Then she absolutely loved the silvervine stick and started rolling around on my table straight away, I didn't even have to pick her up, I just gently got to work.

Ophelia had a few smaller mats removed, her coat had a good de-shed, she had a tummy trim, a claw clip and a sanitary trim as these are the places that were starting to mat up. She was absolutely not a fan of the sanitary trim but tell me a cat that is. The treats helped a lot for this part.

Afterwards, she spent some time on the windowsill looking outside before enjoying some catnip to finish the morning off.

Ophelia's cat parents will be booking her back in, in 3 months time to keep on top of her gorgeous coat and prevent as much matting as is possible.

Lyra and Aerith had their first grooms with me today.

The girls are 6 month old sister Ragc**ns and have just been spayed a few weeks ago.

Lyra was really nosey and friendly and came over sniffing at all of my equipment so she went first. She was super relaxed, sniffed everything on my table, had some treats, played a little whilst I gave her her first ever groom.

Her sister Aerith, took a little more persuading but I managed to get her out of her shell too. Both girls did very well for their first groom and enjoyed some playing time with some silvervine sticks afterwards.

Look at this boys gorgeous markings! 🥰

This is Bobby the tabby British Short haired. Bobby is 11 years old and is a big lad, super affectionate and totally chilled.

Bobby is at an age where he is struggling to groom himself so his mum called me in to help. He was starting to look a little bit like a hedgehog.

Now he looks smooth and silky soft again with a gorgeous coat.

These gorgeous kitties all had grooms with me yesterday.

In order of photos:

Luna - 13 long haired white and black, had a wet bath groom. She was a superstar with the bath and the drying. She scoffed lots of treats too.

Sisi - 15 short haired tabby. We decided Sisi should have a dry groom as she's a more nervous cat and has lost weight recently so we didn't want to stress her out. Sisi enjoyed her groom and started to purr and settled into it. I got the most dead undercoat out of Sisi.

Rosie - 18 short haired black and white. Rosie had a wet groom and was a superstar with her bath and dry. She was a real sweetie.

Ronnie - 6 short haired white with black spots had a dry groom. Ronnie is the newest to the house and we don't know much about his background. He was very unsure and growled a tad so we thought it was the best option for him. He did very well with him groom.

Chico - 15 short haired all black was first up for a wet groom. Chico did not enjoy his bath one little bit and I have the ripped tunic and scratches as proof. Next time I think Chico is a dry groom cat. Chico had the dirtiest ears out of the five.

Teddy the 8yr old British Shorthair had a groom with me today.

Teddy's coat had become a little matted. Unfortunately the section in the middle of his lower back was too formed so had to be clipped out but I managed to comb all the rest of the mats out whilst Teddy purred, rolled around on my table, and ate treats.

Fluffy (chair) and Silky (under radiator) had a groom with me yesterday. I promise they are different cats in the pictures, they just look very similar as they are related.

Fluffy made clipping the mats off his belly a bit difficult for me as he kept rolling around all over my table enjoying the valarian spray. He gave in eventually and let me do it.

Silky was extremely scared and skittish to begin with but once she realised what I was doing she calmed down and let me get all of the matting off her. At one point I didn’t think I was going to be able to get some tricky matting off her groin but I got there in the end.

Lick e lix helped massively with her thankfully, I won’t say how many they had between them🙀!

They’re now looking beautiful and mat free and Silky really does feel silky now 😂!

Tierry had a groom over two sessions with me as he's never had a proper groom before, was quite matted and a little nervous so we split it over two weeks to make it less stressful for him.

Today I finished him off. He was much less scared today and posed for some pics afterwards.

Tierry's a proper fluff monster with super soft cloud like fur. He was a lot more talkative today and told me off when he didn't like something. He's now on a regular 6 weekly grooming schedule to keep him happy and comfortable in the future.

Rocco had his first groom with me yesterday. He’s a 2 year old Maine c**n boy who had become a little matted. We thought he might need a lion cut on discussion but as it was mainly on his underside I was able to spot shave out the mats and comb through the rest of his coat.

Rocco is a playful boy and so he needed to be distracted with playing with the silvervine stick and treats so that he left me alone to do what I needed to do for him. He had a trouser trim and a sanitary trim to finish off his groom. We left his claws alone though, as Rocco likes to go on walks on his lead with the family and the dogs over the fields.

After the groom he curled up on the bedding and was all ready for a nap! 😴 🥰 Night night Rocco!

It’s hard to get a decent picture of Storm sometimes as she has wobbly cat syndrome 😽 🥰 but today she seemed the calmest and least wobbly I’ve seen her yet, so here you go - some decent pics. 😺

She is such a sweetie. She jumped straight onto my table today and sat and waited patiently, she knows the score now 😂.

I clip Storms claws and give her bottom trim every 3 months as she gets the odd mat at her rear end and she’s not the biggest fan of being groomed. She has to be distracted with lick e lix or the teeth come out. Luckily this method works a treat for her for what we need to do.

Look at this little sweetie Grace. 🥰 Grace is a 6 year old Persian and she had her first groom with me the other day.

Grace was adopted a few months ago and has been settling into her new home with some children and some chickens, neither of which bother Grace 😂. She’s such a chilled out cat that nothing really phases her.

Grace had a full dry groom with a tummy trim, a sanitary trim and a paw pad trim to neaten her up.

She did super well for her first groom. Then she enjoyed her treat afterwards and set to work undoing everything I’d just done 😂.
