Where has this week gone 🤯

I can not believe it's been a week since the lovely Balbi came over to put her stamp on the Horizon Gallery.

We thought we would give you an update about the process of this aquarium.

Water changes:
We are performing 50% water changes every day. This is its first week, and we will continue this next week.

Health:
Plants have started to stand up correctly and show good signs of health. Ludwigia Super Red is starting to colour up nicely, and the cabomba red is starting to grow. As a lot of you know, cabomba is a super fast grower, so we will be keeping eyes on how invasive it is, we may need to trim it right back to allow other plants to catch up.

Fertilising:
For the early stages, we use only Seachem advance and Seachem potassium. Once matured, we move onto the full Seachem schedule as seen on our website.

What a Weekend - long post lots of pics

The amazing Balbi joined us to create something beautiful in the Horizon Gallery. The workshop was fantastic, we all learnt some great tips and tricks!

The scape that has been created is using corbo wood and smaller tree root wood, with seriyu stone. Wio accent detailing stones and ADA Mekong sand used in the foreground to compliment the main hardscape. All plants Balbi chose are red to create an all red layout, even the now green bucephalandra will darken and have red hues in their stems.

You did truly amazing, for us it was fantastic to have a woman aquascaper finally do a workshop! You were our first lady and I'm sure not the last 😁 it means a lot to us as it is quite a male dominated industry and unusually there is 3 of us women who work at Horizon! We came together and bossed the workshop 💪 hopefully we helped with your nerves a little, not that you needed it!

As usual we popped Balbis name sticker on the front of her aquarium when she had finished, a lot of you already know the first year we opened we made a list of everyone who inspires us and who we can only dream to have as a workshop guest, we explained this to Balbi and told her that The great Filipe Oliveira was one of those people and we have kept his sticker, he was a dear friend of hers and immediately wanted his sticker to proudly go along side her name 'For Filipe'

The lovely Esther was supposed to join Balbi for this workshop but ended up really poorly just before! We are sad we didn't get to meet you but its a great excuse to come see you, visit the fabulous esthers garden and have a catch up with balbi as well

Lastly as always a big thank you to everyone who attended the work shop and made it so special, it was fantastic to meet some new faces and a huge appreciation for how far some of you all travel!

AQUAEL SHRIMP SETS
We moved our shrimp set into its own little area, we now have the Aquael shrimp set 20 and 30 on display so it's easy to compare sizes 😁 whilst moving around it was a good excuse to scape!
