Tip of the day.

If you feel it necessary to reprimand your dog, first ask yourself how you would like them to behave.
Then guide and encourage them into making the right choices using clear instructions and lots of positive reinforcement.
Next practice, practice, practice and reinforce the behaviour in lots of different environments.
Don’t be quick to point the finger if you haven’t taken the time to actually let them know how to behave appropriately in the first place.

Remember we chose to have dogs in our lives. It’s a scary place to live in if you don’t understand it.

Children and dog/puppy tip.
When a new puppy comes into the family it’s inevitable that the children in a family want to help. Especially with walking or holding the lead.
When you have more than one child in the family this can cause arguments.
We suggest that before the puppy comes, take the children to the pet store and allow them to choose a lead each. Explain about taking turns but that an adult WILL ALSO have their lead attached at the same time.
This encourages children to help walk the dog safely with their chosen lead and to take turns.
They can then be taught how to keep the lead loose and not to pull the dog around too. When the walk has finished the children can be encouraged to put their lead away tidily.
K9 Pursuits encourages the whole family to come to training classes.

Pawfect Balance is now offering a hydrotherapy clinic 🌊 🥳

Starting from Sunday, 13th April, hydrotherapy treatment can now become part of your dogs rehab or fitness plan! Working alongside physiotherapy, hydrotherapy is a great way to improve mobility in elderly dogs, provide pain relief, reduce inflammation, and overall improve fitness.

After completing my Level 3 canine hydrotherapy qualification, I have been eager to put it to use, so I am now doing a monthly hydrotherapy clinic using the pool at , Newton Aycliffe.

I will be posting more information on how hydrotherapy can help your canine companion 🐶 so keep your eyes peeled 👀.

The 1st session on 13th April is ONLY available to previous or existing clients. There are currently only 2 spots left, so if anyone would like to book, get in contact with me before places go!✅️ I will be offering spaces to new clients for May soon (as new clients will need to have a physiotherapy assessment first prior to hydrotherapy sessions), but if you would like more info, let me know 😊.

I can't wait for this new chapter and provide more care for your 4-legged friends!! 🐾
