To all my lovely customers I’d just like to announce that John and I have finally moved house and are very happily ensconced in our new house in County Durham.
I’ll be removing the page for a while until I’m up and running here. Please take a last look at your pooches photos and save the ones you want to keep if possible.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I’d like to thank each and everyone of you for the lovely gifts, kind words and smiles I’ve been given over the last few weeks, months, years.
The Pooch Pamperer has hung up her scissors for the forseeable future but until we move will still groom a couple of my very old oldies from February. I will also be available for advice or any of my previous customers really struggling to get an appointment after January on a last minute basis (if I’m in WK).

As many of you aware I am closing my Pooch Pamperer business on 20th December 2022. Although we don’t have a date for moving from Seamill I’ve decided to take a long needed break and concentrate on my health and family for a while. I’d like to say thank you to you all for being so amazing and putting your trust in me to take care of your 4 legged friends. I’ll miss my people and dog pals so much.

John and I have made the decision to move back down to England. 33 years in Scotland! Never in our wildest dreams did we think we’d be up here this long when we first moved to Burntisland back in 1989. Think it’s about time we got back to our roots, closer to our family - thinking of all those last minute meet ups and family Sunday dinners we’re going to have.
I will be still grooming all my gorgeous pooches for the coming months and will keep you all updated.

LONG TERM FOSTER NEEDED PLEASE SORTED THANK YOU

BUSTER

Buster is an approximately 15 year old springer spaniel. Sadly his owner has passed away and he needs a home to live out his remaining time. He had a stroke a few years ago and is on medication for this. He is also a little bit lame. He literally just needs a comfy sofa and a garden to potter about in :) He does not really get on with other dogs so no family members are able to take him. His owners son says of him " He’s just a old boy loves shorts walks a little stiff and unsteady at times but other than that he’s a happy boy"

Buster is currently in North Lanarkshire and while we can move him to a foster home it would not be fair for this to be too long a journey

We have come to a crisis point in our rescue and we are literally overwhelmed with the huge number of dogs that are needing to come into us 💔 We are appealing desperately for foster homes however many of these dogs have issues and we need very specific help….
# we need pet free homes
# we need adult only homes
# we need fosters with experience of helping adult rescue dogs
# we need you to be in the Glasgow / Renfrewshire / North Ayrshire areas only.

We pay all vet bills and food costs and this is extremely urgent as many of these dogs have no offers of help and are at risk.

(The dogs in our pics are already safe with us but are looking for homes)

Just to give you all the heads up. Due to contracting covid and taking a while to get back to full strength and also having a hospital procedure next week I’m having to cancel appointments. To be fair to everyone I’ve decided to move all appointments forward 2 weeks and I’ll be in touch to rearrange asap. If anyone would like to make other arrangements with another dog groomer that’s fine I totally understand.

Thank you in advance-
If you have an appointment this week and there’s a possibility one of your family members has covid please let me know so we can reschedule. The new strain of covid is even more transmissible and dogs can carry covid on their coats just like any surface. Although thankfully the disease isn’t as dangerous as it once was the fallout for small businesses is still serious.
My daughter is getting married in less than 2 weeks so please be patient with me and adhere to my request.

Please respect on lead dogs. You have no idea why that dog may be on a lead, he or she may be arthritic/elderly/recovering from surgery/aggressive/fearful … the list of possibilities is endless but there will be a reason WHY he or she is on a lead.

It doesn’t matter if your dog is friendly the on lead dog may not be.

EVERYTIME an off lead dogs runs in at an on lead dog this sets the on lead dog back if he or she has fear or aggression issues.

Sadly ‘friendly’ dogs (ie ones who run in) can inadvertently cause a problem so please show on lead dogs and their owners the courtesy they deserve.

If your dog has poor recall please keep it on a lead in dog heavy areas.

Very young pups out on early walks after vaccination can be traumatised/damaged mentally by ‘friendly’ dogs.

We love to see dogs being able to run freely in appropriate places but with freedom comes responsibility to keep your dog under control. If your dog lacks a recall put it on a lead.

Please be a responsible owner.

⚠️👧 👦 Please also remember that some adults and children are afraid of dogs it’s important to not allow your dogs to scare humans either.
