Meet the handsome Alfie

Alfie’s been through a tough time lately, losing his friend Daisy - so everything is just different. Dogs grieve as well so it’s important that we allow for the impact it has on their lives

It can be easy to jump to conclusions about separation anxiety, or that they need a new friend for company - however, we should always look at their daily routine first, maybe making some adjustments is a good place to start. Making sure their needs are being met, exercise, mental stimulation & calm.

Puppy smashing week 4

Tackling jumping, settle, up/off & the importance of good puppy play

Off lead play can be super fun & very overstimulating for puppies. It’s important that all the puppies are enjoying the play. Learning when to step in & end play can teach a dog important boundaries & keeps everything fun 🤩

Meet Porsha - another neglected dog that was put on Gumtree 🤬

At only 9 month of age this young dog has spent most of her life in a crate. Adolescence is a tricky phase for every dog, but for a dog that has missed out on essential early training & socialisation, means she is finding the world a scary place. This has manifested into over the top behaviours & as a big strong girl can make her difficult to handle

To help the girl get started on her training journey if to ensure the environment was as trigger free as possible. Once that was in place she did absolutely amazing at getting a recall start & building a solid foundation for loose lead walk. Adding in enrichment activities to help her self soothe & build confidence

There’s a long journey ahead for Porsha, but with patience, consistency & kindness she’ll get there. Such a beautiful natured dog, even after all she’s been through

Meet the handsome Loki - another lovely dog with a rough start getting a 2nd chance in life

Loki is a nervous boy so when the environment is too much for him he reacts, which makes handling him difficult for his human. The brief was to help with recall so he can enjoy some freedom in a safe environment, help with loose lead & how to safely pass dogs/humans

We went back to basics with recall, started building a solid foundation for loose lead walking & by the end of the session Loki was walking passed my dog & remaining focused on his human. Aced it ⭐️

Meet beautiful Tilly

Tilly was abandoned as a puppy to be euthanised, but thankfully the vet refused to put a health puppy to sleep. Now she’s living the good life with her new human

Tilly is a strong young lady so get the right harness & double lead attachment gives more stability to her human. We started to build a solid loose lead foundation, helped to increase focus on her human & made a start on self control around people & dogs. Girl done good ⭐️
