Well done to Bella, Freya, Coco, Rusty, Fudge & their humans completing the puppy/beginners life skills courses 🐾

The progress made over the last few weeks has been amazing. We finished of the last classes of the year with the confidence course.

I think I just lost my heart to Butch 🥰

This gorgeous floof has landed himself a fabulous new home & his new parent wanted to get him started off on the right paw, as he’s going to be a big boy.

We discussed the importance of sleep, good nutrition, mental stimulation & how to handle puppy nipping/potty training. Then we got straight to work on building loose lead walking 🐾

Can’t wait to see this little face in January’s puppy life skills course.

Ending the week with this stunner. Winnie is 12 weeks old sassy little puppy, full of fun & teeth 🦷

Today we learnt how to chill on the mat, name recognition & recall - it never ceases to amaze me how quickly puppies learn ❤️

We also discussed the importance of sleep, good nutrition, potty training & handling puppy biting

Beautiful Luna 🐾

Luna had a bad experience with a “pet care” provider which has resulted in her left in pain & not trusting dogs & humans in certain situations.

We made a start building both Luna’s & her humans confidence back up using positive reinforcement to learn new handling skills around her triggers & building on her already good loose lead walking

This serves as a reminder to us all that the ‘Dog/ Pet care’ industry is unregulated & you really do have to do checks & ask questions before you entrust your animal to anyone. “Ive had dogs all my life”, “I love dogs”, “they have a nice house” - are not a qualifications.

We started with focus, recall & putting in the building blocks for loose lead walking. The dogs did amazing 🤩 🐾

The beautiful Sienna has landed on her paws in a fabulous new home

Sienna has spent most of her young life outdoors or in kennels so adjust to life in a house has brought a little challenge- she frightened of the TV. With some help we are going to change that 🐾

Well done to Team Timothy & Team Reggie completing the Loose Lead Walking course this morning

Today we took the skills learnt to the great outdoors & all the distractions of ‘real life’ walks. To say I’m so proud of these guys is an understatement because the progress they have made has been amazing. Well done 👏🏼

All achieved with positive reinforcement- No Slip knot leads, No yanking, No harsh methods

Meet the gorgeous Sunny

Today we made a start on building a solid recall & loose lead walking skills - this young pup aced it 🐾

Sunny is only 4.5 months old so it’s important to make learning fun for him. Keep it simple, clear & consistent is key 🔑

We finished up with meeting/greeting other dogs, drop, play & the popular confidence course. So much progress with this group & some very tired happy puppies heading home for a nap 🐾

Scent Work at its best when you get 3 competitive Teams in 1 race to the final search!!!

Team Beau won the final search but very closely followed by Team Nico & Team Pepper 👏🏼

We also had a very difficult bonus scent that was sniffed out by Team Nico 👏🏼

Such an enjoyable 4 weeks watching these Teams grow in confidence

Here’s Gus

Gus gets very excited by the doorbell & receiving houseguests, so with a new baby sister joining the family it was time to get a door protocol in place & learning to greet guests calmly.

Gus will also need to learn about some new boundaries in advance of his sister becoming more mobile. Then we will work on his dislike of bikes 🚲

Would you just look at Ted being super proud of himself

Ted absolutely LOVES toys, even better when toys are in motion & being thrown by a stranger - Ted in pure heaven!! Not so much for the unsuspecting stranger 😬

Today we started to build self control around toys, not jumping up to grab but to wait until he was told to take it. Getting started in a solid Leave It & more focus on his human around distractions. When the basics are more solid we can introduce more distractions.

When you’re trying to modify a behaviour it’s important that the dog doesn’t get to continue to practice the behaviour you don’t want. If it’s toy chasing then using a long line or keeping your dog in a lead in distracting environments
