Our Spring Season of training starts tomorrow with strong booking numbers but as always we have a few places left. New this season is our 'Kids n Dogs' fun class (still available) and we have added an Obedience Bronze to Thursday mornings with places still available to book. Hi all, we have just finished a very successful season and we are about to start another.......Spring is here!... A few facts about the Club:

In any training season (five per year) we train about 150 dogs on average. Our training covers: Rescue, Puppy and Adult training from Foundation to Gold Standard, private training, single issue, sessions, behavioural problems including reactivity and we offer a lifetime of fun agility and children and dog sessions. Our puppy socialisation is free to members.

Our training isn't in a village hall or a random field, we have a dedicated fully secure paddock and a dedicated barn at our base on Hall Farm. Our walking training even includes the opportunity to train out in the community.

We are not a self styled 'Academy' or 'School'. We are are, put very simply, a 'Fun Dog Club' offering trainers with a combined over fifty years of dog training in a warm, fun, community based, facility and environment.

For some time our trainer Debbie has wanted to run an ongoing kids club for Children with dogs. Debbie has been a Brownie and Girl Guide leader for over forty years!!! So here we go:
staring Wednesday 9Th April at 5.00pm our pilot four week class; "Kids n Dogs" will kick off For children over six and a half years of age. The content will be fun around both Obedience and Agility (dogs not kids :) ). The aim will be for kids to build their bond with and responsibility for their family pet, a skill for life.

Some bits of news: our daytime Agility classes are getting pretty full so to ease the pressure we have added an 11.30am Wednesday, Agility Intermediate, slot. So if you are a beginner looking to move up, experienced but rusty or the time just suits you better it’s now available to book. All classes in our Spring season are now available to book too…. The new barn lights, ultra modern, LED and warmer tone have been installed!!! No more fluorescent tubes, dodgy starters and failed fittings. We have seen the light!!!! 😂

Hi everyone, our Winter 2025 training season is now fully underway. Our next full training season is Spring 2025 starting Sunday 23rd March 2025. All beginners courses are now available to book. Follow on courses will be available from w/c 9th February 2025. Always remember that if you cannot find what you require we do operate waiting lists against fully booked classes and where possible we will add classes against demand.

New stuff: the additional Puppy Foundation course starting 1st Feb is booking quickly. We have added a daytime Animal Magic Obedience Bronze/ Silver starting this Thursday at 11.30am, at the request of members who found Friday evening difficult. That is available for late bookings now on the website.

Happy New Year! Our Winter 2025 season starts on Sunday and all of our Puppy Foundation classes have sold out! so we have added another course. Starting Saturday 1st February at 1.00pm, six weeks x one hour duration. Please don't forget our free ( to members) Puppy socialisation classes on Saturday, every week at 2.15pm too. All bookable on the website....

Winter thoughts:
Smaller dogs feel the cold much more than larger dogs. Long hair less than short hair. It’s all about surface area to bulk ratio… I’m warm 😂
-6 degrees is the lowest limit for all breeds to be walked at all. (RSPCA)
Salted surfaces and de-icer fluids can be detrimental to paws, rinse their feet.
Keep away from frozen waterways, every year someone dies trying to rescue a dog that has fallen through ice. The dog usually survives but not always.
Christmas foods….chocolate, dried fruits and small ornaments are very dangerous to dogs.
Avoid storm risks on our lovely beaches, including washed up palm oil and crustaceans.

Today the BBC is reporting that someone has discovered that classical music is soothing to dogs. Talk about old news! I always leave classical music playing when I have to leave Boo at home. I usually ask my smart speaker: ‘play music by Morten Lauridsen’ - it works, categorically so! Anyone else have recommendations? 😄 No Bach jokes please…😉

As we come to the end of our training season bookings are going really well for January.

I know from talking to our trainers that some people are disappointed at missing out on a course that is fully booked and others are finding that the course that they want is on at an inconvenient time for them. In both cases please send an email and we will accumulate demand and see what we might be able to do to accommodate peoples wishes with additional sessions. Just let us know the course that you would like to do and your broadest availability and whilst we cannot promise, we can, at least, try for you. So far we are looking at a daytime Bronze and Silver Obedience.

Unbelievable as it sounds... our final season for 2024 is now fully underway and Beginners and Obedience courses starting 12th January are now available to book on the website. How time flies.... As ever, regular, follow on, courses will become available slightly later to be bookable from 16th November 2024.

ADULT DOG SOCIALISATION – This is for dogs over eight months with a view to building the confidence of nervous dogs and addressing lead reactivity. This is now available as a four week course available on Tuesday mornings and on Saturday midday.
