We have 2 operating theatres which are designed carefully to help keep your pets safe during surgery - we have a heated operating table, special surgical lighting to avoid creating shadows in the operating field, antibacterial particles in the floor to help keep the theatre as sterile as possible and suction and electrocautery units to help minimise any blood loss during surgery. Our separate scrub room means that vets scrub outside of theatre to help keep the theatre as sterile as possible. Our vets are highly trained surgeons meaning we are able to undertake a wide variety of complex surgical procedures in house. If you would like to find out more give us a call on 01692 407126

Our onsite luxury pet hotel cares for pets whilst owners are on holiday. We are delighted to have been awarded a 5* rating following our recent inspection 😃 We understand how stressful going on holiday can be when you own a pet, especially if
your pet is elderly or on long term medication. Our Luxury Pet Hotel caters for cats and small mammals (including rabbits) whilst owners are on holiday. We hope this provides peace of mind that pets are receiving the best possible care from qualified vets and nurses during holiday periods.
The Pet Hotel offers a purpose built and fully licenced boarding cattery with 6 purpose built enclosures within a self contained fully heated and air conditioned cattery which is also equipped with its own ventilation system to ensure no unpleasant lingering aromas. The UPVc designed enclosures and medical grade flooring ensure hygiene and warmth for our guests, and the design ensures privacy so that neighbouring guests can’t see each other to avoid any stressful encounters.
Cat owners know that their Cats like to exercise but also enjoy taking some time out for relaxation. To cater for this our enclosures have a large raised sleeping area in addition to an exercise area which contains toys and activities to keep our guests entertained.
All our guests are cared for by the Toll Barn Vets staff which means they have a fully qualified vet and nurse available to them 24/7 should they need it. This also enables us to provide any daily medication your pet requires and to monitor any health problems they may have, allowing you to have your own a stress free holiday knowing that your pet is receiving the best possible care.

Anaesthesia - keeping your pets safe. We believe in treating your pets to the same high standards as we would treat our own pets. We only use qualified veterinary nurses to monitor our sedated and anaesthetised patients rather than lay staff and use intravenous catheters and anaesthetic protocols tailored to your individual pet as well as utilising a whole range of monitoring equipment, a lot of which has been specifically designed or adapted for our practice to allow accurate monitoring of even the smallest patients up to the largest dogs. Below you can see a small selection - our monitors allow ECGs, capnography (carbon dioxide measurements), pulse oximetry (oxygen measurements), blood pressure and temperature as well as much much more! If you would like to find out more about our facilities please give us a call on 01692 407126

This gorgeous pup came to visit us when his owner noticed some vomiting. Our team performed an ultrasound scan and identified a foreign body within the intestines. After stabilising this cute fellow with intravenous fluids our vets performed a delicate surgery to remove the offending foreign body. He had a smooth recovery and enjoyed some cuddles and TLC overnight with our onsite night team!

Did you know Toll Barn Vets has its very own dedicated team of Night Vets and Night Nurses? We have always believed it is important to provide our own onsite 24/7 emergency service to ensure that in an emergency our patients and clients can be seen by a familiar face in a familiar surgery with their pets records on hand. Well, now we have gone one step further! We now have our very own dedicated team of Night Vets (Adam, Edele, Marco and Victor) and Night Nurses (Tracy and Chloe) who are on site for the entire night to care for your pets. This means our hospitalised patients get round the clock personalised care and our emergency patients can receive the best possible care no matter what time of day or night they become unwell. We are really proud of our night service and the level of care we can provide to our clients and patients 🙂

Meet Ella. Ella has spent a lot of time at the surgery recently as her owner noticed she wasn't her normal self. Investigations revealed she had a dangerously high blood pressure. The cause of this was a tumour of the adrenal gland known as a phaechromocytoma. This tumour is particularly nasty as it often invades the vena cava (a main blood vessel in the body) requiring patients to be cooled during surgery to allow removal of any tumour invading this blood vessel. Ella's surgery was carefully planned and included availability of blood transfusions as well as specialised surgical instruments for blood vessel repair. Her team of surgeons and veterinary nurses performed this intricate surgery and Ella has recovered very well and is now back home enjoying plenty of toys and treats :) Intricate surgeries such as this are only possible because of the skills of our team, our onsite hospital care and high standard of facilities and equipment. We are always happy to talk to you about how we can help your pet - just give us a call on 01692 407126

We are very proud to be a family run independent practice. What does it mean to be an independent practice? Toll Barn Vets is proud to be one of the few remaining independent practices in Norfolk. This means that we are not owned or part of a big corporate chain of practices and remain a small family run practice. We believe this offers our clients and patients important benefits. We are not limited in the drugs and equipment we can purchase - we are able to continually invest in the most modern and effective equipment to diagnose and treat our patients. We can continue to invest in new state of the art facilities such as our laser therapy unit, onsite CT scanner and onsite luxury pet hotel. We can also remain a small friendly team who offer the highest standards of pet care without having to meet corporate targets which we believe provides our patients with the best care possible. If you would like to know more about how we can help care for your pet please give us a call on 01692 407126

At Toll Barn Vets we are continually investing in the latest treatments to give your pets the best care possible. Cryotherapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses extreme cold to eliminate abnormal skin tissue such as warts and lesions. Unlike traditional surgery, there is no cutting involved. This user-friendly technique has been used for centuries in human medicine and is now commonly employed in veterinary practice. The precision of the device minimises damage to healthy surrounding tissue. The freezing process is quick, typically taking only a few seconds. After freezing, the tissue is allowed to thaw before repeating the freezing process. Cryotherapy is generally considered non painful and can be performed conscious as long as the lesion isnt in close proximity to a sensitive area such as the eye. If you would like to talk to us about the suitability of cryotherapy for your pet please contact us on 01692 407126

This handsome chap was rushed in to our team when his owner noticed he was very unwell and had been vomiting. Our team identified a particularly tricky linear foreign body within his intestines which was causing a blockage. A linear foreign body is usually something long such as a piece of fabric which passes through sections of the intestines then gets stuck causing the intestines to bunch together and creates a blockage and damage to the intestines that is has traveled through. Our team of surgeons were able to remove this foreign material and provide intensive support throughout his recovery and we are delighted that he is now back home feeling much better.
