This is Uma. Uma is a 9 year old Hungarian Visalia who was diagnosed with acute non-compressive nucleus pulposus extrusion. This means that material found within vertebral discs as part of her spine, had escaped and was causing compression of the spinal cord. This caused Uma acute ataxia (wobbliness) and weakness of bilateral hindlimbs. Here’s Peggy during her Exercise and Prevention Session. 💪🏼 Peggy wasn’t sure on the underwater treadmill at first but you’ll now find Peggy sat on the ramp longing to get in! As a breed prone to a spinal condition named IVDD, she attends semi regularly to maintain strength and stability of her paraspinal (back) and abdominal muscles. ⭐️ Here is Peggy showing off some trot work up an incline!
