I live in Crook DL15 and I am a bookkeeper who works from home. I have a pet bird that I adopted after its owner passed away. I allow them to sniff to get to know me in a peaceful manner. I have found this works very well and the dogs I look after seem to relax quickly into the arrangement. I enjoy watching dog behaviour programs especially Ceasar Millan – The Dog Whisperer. I started my experience of looking after other people’s pets by becoming a Cat Fosterer for charity Cat Protection. This has given me much experience and knowledge of how to look after cats while letting them have their own space to letting them dictate when they want to approach. I endeavour to arrive at a sit before the owners have left so we can have a detailed handover. If this is not possible then video calling can be arranged. I feed and clean up after pets as per owners instructions. I enjoy having cuddles and playing with your fur babies. A document stating your pets daily routine, likes and dislikes, meds etc is very helpful for me to refer to during my stay.
