Summer is finally here 🤩 Who’s spotted the new addition in the background of my photos this past week? 👀 My new favourite purchase for the cabin is a super powerful wall mounted aircon to keep all your lovely pooches cool in this weather! It’s bliss in the cabin with this on.. 🥰 tempted to sleep in there tonight if it’s too hot. 😂 Please still be careful coming to your appointments this week though, the pavements are still very warm for them to walk on! ☀️

Great article to assess your dogs body condition! Both Maple and Ginny are atleast 5kg under what the “ideal” weight for a Labrador is. But if I fed them enough to get to that weight they’d be overweight as that weight would not match their individual builds. Always happy to give advice on this if you need it for your dogs. 😊

It’s that time of year again where the grass seeds are causing havoc for dog owners. 🌾 In the last 5 days alone I’ve found wounds in 3 different dog’s paws where grass seeds have gone in. These then usually need to be removed under sedation by a vet before they migrate further and cause more serious problems.
I’ve attached a picture with some info on what to look out for and symptoms. But I must stress.. that all the dogs I found grass seeds in recently haven’t shown any signs of pain or lameness. They hide these symptoms extremely well which is a natural instinct!
So it is very important to check your dogs paws, ears and eyes after any grassy walk. Luckily these dogs have amazing owners who have seeked help and their dogs will feel better. 🥰 And as I personally know recently, it’s not just grass seeds that can cause trouble so keep an eye out for any other foreign objects in these places too. 😅 *cough cough* Ginny.. 👀😂🤎

It’s been a toasty one today! But all the pooches in today have been nice and cool and happy. 🥰 Me on the other hand must have lost atleast a couple pounds in sweat.. 😅

Early start for me and Miss Maggie this morning to beat the heat. 🧡 First teeth clean for Maggie today too which she was super good for, it’s best to start the teeth cleaning when the build up of plaque is only just appearing to get them used to it and so it doesn’t start to cause any damage to the gums. 😊

Obviously it has to be Ginny that attempts to grow some sort of plant in her ear.🤦‍♀️ After a very stressful evening yesterday for everyone involved, Ginny is home and recovering well. Anyone who is booked in over the next couple of days may just need to bare with me while I keep an eye on her between appointments. Unless you are contacted, all appointments will go ahead as normal. 🤎
