The forecast next week is set to be in the mid-high 20s everyday, owners of dogs booked in for walks will be contacted regarding changing to home visits or changing times of walks to earlier in the day.

Under no circumstance will I walk a dog once the temperature hits 24 degrees. I will assess each dog individually and make a decision based on the breed, age and health of the dog.

Hannah’s Hounds has been a little quiet on social media for a while, sorry about that, but we’ve still been working hard. Let me catch you up!

Back in Sep 2022, I was certain that I was shutting down. I had an opportunity in my ‘second job’ which had become my main source of income (and it still is).

October hit and I pretty much had a mental breakdown. My mental health was in the gutter and I stopped doing everything other than dog walking, working and occasionally seeing my friends to keep myself going. Social media stopped as to me it wasn’t a priority.

Fast forward 6 months and I bring you to March.
I’ve taken the opportunity in my second job, which is now my main job and I’m still having an issue with my knee which I sprained last year. Yes, I’m a hazard to myself. These changes mean I need to adapt how I run the business and what services are offered!

Dog sitting services will be stopped with immediate effect, except for existing dog sitting clients. All existing clients will be contacted this week, to inform them of changes and the new process should they wish to book. New contracts with updated terms and conditions will also be sent to you. If you haven’t heard from me by the end of the week, please let me know!

Walking, drop in and day sitting services will remain as normal.

I will also be adding a new photography service. The service will be for dogs and cats 🐾 I will be posting more information on this in a different post shortly.

The thought of shutting my business down was one I was absolutely didn’t want to have to follow through with. Dogs provide me with pure serotonin, but I don’t have any and I love all of the dogs I care for. I’d quite simply miss them all too much!

The business will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday 28th September, due to a pre-booked event being confirmed.

All affected clients would’ve been notified when I saw them or received a message last week to notify them.

No services will be available on this day and normal services will return on Thursday 29th.

Earlier this week the Queens Funeral was announced as a bank holiday on Monday 19th September. I have made the decision to close the business on this day.

All clients who are affected by this have been contacted.

Services will resume as normal on Tuesday 20th September.

What a little (big) monkey you’ve been since Friday Buster!

🔵Stealing the crocs instantly if they fell on the floor
🔵 Taking your blankets outside
🔵 Trying to jump over the fence
🔵 Legging it (literally) from the country park through a bush only to stop on the doorstep dead opposite to sniff some trainers

No day is ever dull with you, but it all ends up ok when you look so peaceful sleeping 😴 or look at me in general with those puppy dog eyes

Douglas only looks stunned as I made him sit for his treat before I left after his walk yesterday instead of just giving it to him!

Ziggy’s doing so well on his walks and is being such a good boy. He’s not reacting badly (although still is slightly) and he’s also not pulling on the lead as much!

Yesterday, we came across a dog and it’s owner on a narrow path, I stepped aside allowing them to pass and using a treat as a distraction for Ziggy, he turned to bark, but didn’t (which is most important) and then turned straight back to the treat 👏🏻👏🏻

He enjoyed his walk, until it started raining 🌧

Meet Charlie, the rabbit catching Cocker Spaniel. We’re 17 walks down and he’s caught 2 rabbits 🐇 I’m pretty sure Wednesdays are his rabbit catching days 🐇 Charlie clearly loves a rabbit and I’ve chosen to accept this. He decided to catch one on his walk Wednesday and he caught one last Wednesday too! Luckily, unlike last Wednesday when I was stuck in the field for 20 minutes trying to get him back, he decided to leave it in the field and run home with me and Nellie 😅 He got lots of ‘good boy Charlie’ when he did decided to A) follow me and Nellie along on the walk (with mr rabbit) and B) left the rabbit to come home 🤣
