Little Pickle! 🥰 So proud of this little girl! She came to me with her companions terrified of all things grooming but after only a few visits she’s coming on leaps and bounds. This is largely down to patience and understanding of her owners who are less worried about style and more about keeping Pickle comfy and in a coat state that they can manage at home. We do little and often with her visits. Sometimes she just comes and hangs out while her brother or sister get a groom and sometimes like today she has everything done. Bravo Pickle! 😘😘

Unlike human hairdressing, with doggy haircuts we rarely cut the hair wet. The ideal scenario is a clean, dry, tangle free coat all over to then style. Blow drying certain coat types in certain ways is also necessary in preparation for the hair cut afterwards. Ted here has a lush fluffy coat which is like velvet when he is scissor trimmed. Because he is part poodle he needs the curl stretching out of his coat as much as possible while drying to be able to get a neat uniform finish with the scissors afterwards! Here’s some footage of parts of his haircut... I’ll let you decide if it’s in real speed or not 😉
