Shelly and I have just arrived home, from seeing uncle Simon! I noticed yesterday that she seemed to have lost weight, but was showing no signs of illness and was her normal cheeky, full of life self!
Simon gave her a thorough check over and said she seemed very well, but just somewhat smaller! He checked her teeth that were good, but smoothed off some sharp edges. He commented on how good her teeth still were, as it’s been over a year since he last saw her!
He wonders if maybe she broke a tooth a few weeks ago, that made eating a little tricky, causing some weight loss, but it has now resolved! Shelly is such a determined piggy, she wouldn’t have shown signs of struggling, as even when she first arrived, with dreadful teeth, she would try her very best to eat!
I’ll be monitoring her closely and keeping Simon informed of how she’s doing. I’ll give her some extra food, away from Clover and Buster, which she’ll love, to bolster her up a bit!
Such a relief to know nothing sinister seems to be going on, but obviously if the weight loss continues, it will be investigated further!
