The Excellent Adventure Sanctuary (for guinea pigs with extra needs)
A specialist sanctuary supporting guinea pigs with extra needs - primarily dental. Registered Charity Debbie Postles - Director. Emma-Jane Hartley - Director.
Andrew Hartley - Trustee. Catherine Wholey - Trustee. Emma Gordon - Trustee. Jennifer Cox - Trustee. Steve Turner - Trustee/Charity Treasurer. The Excellent Adventure Sanctuary enables guinea pigs who have ongoing medical issues to live a normal, happy life, whilst they receive the veterinary care they need. The Sanctuary specialises in the management of dental issues and the results achieved have
been amazing! All veterinary treatment is carried out by Simon and Kim Maddock of the Cat and Rabbit Care Clinic, Northampton. However, to enable this service to be offered to even more piggies with extra needs, funds need to be raised. Places at the Sanctuary can be offered on a short term, long term or permanent basis and the programme of supportive care is individually tailored to each piggy's needs.

Transport needed from Clackton on Sea (CO16 5NT) to TEAS (NN4 0ST)
I’m appealing for help for a client of The Cat and Rabbit Care Clinic, who needs to get their guinea pig to Northampton as quickly as possible, so she can have dental treatment. The guinea pig will then be staying here for a while!
Unfortunately, the owner doesn’t drive and had to make the initial journey by taxi, which isn’t really possible again.
If you could help with any part of this journey, please get in touch!
Thank you!

Sad news from TEAS tonight. Orchid has made her way to the bridge. Andrew and I are currently on holiday, so massive thanks have to go to Karen for her dedication and care for Orchid over the past few difficult days. Also her care for Oscar, but that's a different story...
Orchid arrived at TEAS as an 'extra', due to losing her friend. She found herself moving in with Oscar, Owl and Otter to complete the group known as the Os.
Orchid had lived with Oscar since 13th December 2020 and their bond grew incredibly close when it ended up being just the two of them.
Orchid had always suffered with sporadic grunty breathing and it could never be pinpointed as to what was causing it. Orchid received treatment each and every time, which seemed to put a hold on things and she carries on with life in her own inimitable way. Sadly, this time was one time too many and her little body could not take anymore. Despite the best care, Orchid took herself off to the bridge tonight, with her beloved Oscar by her side.
She will be hugely missed by all of us, but particularly by Oscar. She was always a dinky girl, with a giant character, often using Oscar as a climbing frame when waiting to be cleaned out. She loved her food and knew exactly when the fridge was opened, despite being in a different room...
Sleep tight, Orchid (or Awkward...). It's been an absolute pleasure to look after you.
Orchid - 2020 ~ 25th August 2025 🩷

Baby Blitzen is now all grown up and a few months ago, he moved out to live with Logan, who had sadly lost his brother! He’s such a lovely and kind boy! Daddy Monkey and Uncle Leander taught him well! 💙💙

Hei Hei and Popcorn became good friends and eventually moved out, which meant Monkey had a space for a new foster son to join him and Leander! Baby Blitzen arrived and both Monkey and Leander cared for him and taught him everything! 💙💙💙
