The Excellent Adventure Sanctuary (for guinea pigs with extra needs)

The Excellent Adventure Sanctuary (for guinea pigs with extra needs) A specialist sanctuary supporting guinea pigs with extra needs - primarily dental. Registered Charity Debbie Postles - Director. Emma-Jane Hartley - Director.

Andrew Hartley - Trustee. Catherine Wholey - Trustee. Emma Gordon - Trustee. Jennifer Cox - Trustee. Steve Turner - Trustee/Charity Treasurer. The Excellent Adventure Sanctuary enables guinea pigs who have ongoing medical issues to live a normal, happy life, whilst they receive the veterinary care they need. The Sanctuary specialises in the management of dental issues and the results achieved have

been amazing! All veterinary treatment is carried out by Simon and Kim Maddock of the Cat and Rabbit Care Clinic, Northampton. However, to enable this service to be offered to even more piggies with extra needs, funds need to be raised. Places at the Sanctuary can be offered on a short term, long term or permanent basis and the programme of supportive care is individually tailored to each piggy's needs.

With so many new followers, I think it is important to explain exactly what TEAS is and how we run!

What is TEAS?

The Excellent Adventure Sanctuary was established in 2011, to provide permanent care for guinea pigs with additional needs, primarily dental. We work closely with Simon and Kim Maddock at the Cat and Rabbit Care Clinic in Northampton and it is due to their immense skill and knowledge that TEAS exists.

We are a registered charity and are also registered for gift aid, with HMRC. Therefore, if you are a UK tax payer and make a monetary donation to us, please ask to complete a gift aid form, so we can claim gift aid on your donation.

TEAS is run entirely by unwaged volunteers, around other commitments and work.

Where are we located?

The charity is run from a modest, semi detached house in East Hunsbury, Northampton and is not a large, multi-staffed centre. We are, therefore, unable to offer visits to the sanctuary, but we do hold regular fundraising events, where you can learn more about the guinea pigs in our care, whilst raising much needed funds. These events are held at Blacky More Community Centre in East Hunsbury.

How to contact TEAS?

Contact can be made via our page or by phone. If you phone and there is no answer, please leave a message, as I may be working, at vet appointments, or taking some time out with friends and family.

Thank you all for your support, we couldn't do what we do, without you! xx

Tomorrow from 11am you might see we are running live from Facebook! How exciting. 🤩

Louise who runs the fundraising pages and the WhatNot live shows over at:
https://whatnot.com/invite/louisesanimalrescuesales
Is trialling streaming her WhatNot show directly onto our page to show you what you are missing!

Unfortunately as the bidding is on the WhatNot app alone anyone watching on Facebook will not be able to bid on items. We are hoping streaming to Facebook will help to show people what they are missing so they will come and join us over on WhatNot where the real action is happening and you can help us raise some much needed funds. ❤️

Schools are not suitable environments for guinea pigs! Our piggy, Popcorn, came to us after being left with neurological issues, when he was dropped by a child in his previous home in a school!

I’m very disappointed that a rescue rehomed to a school!

Munchy and Crunchy, have been recruited to help children with their learning ❤️

Lethal white piggy, Leander, arrived at TEAS in February 2023, as a baby! He’s needed ongoing treatment for dental issues, but has always eaten well, as long as he had a tidy up of his teeth periodically!

Well Leander now has some very exciting news to share with you all!

He saw uncle Simon, yesterday and his teeth are now completely normal! He will have another check up in September, just to make sure all is still good, but I think it’s fair to say, his dental issues have cured!

Another huge success, thanks to the amazing skill of our awesome vet, Simon Maddock! ❤️
