✍️Booking your first lesson with us …

First, you need to head over to our website to create an account. It is important that all your personal details are accurate , including contact details.
Next up, making a “Rider profile”. This is where you can enter a riders height / weight / previous experience/ etc. If you are making one on behalf of someone else (such as your child) , please make sure that their personal details are entered and correct too!
Once you have an account and a rider profile, you are ready to book in your assessment lesson. Even as an “ungraded” rider you will be able to book in an assessment private lesson , even if the banner comes up at the top stating that you need grading beforehand.

All new riders to us require a private assessment lesson , before we can consider grading you to join groups. The only exception to this is for children aged 2-5 years old, where they are eligible for our “Foal tots” group - in this case just pop us a message once you have created the account and we can change the grade for you😁

ONE DAY EVENT🏇 We still have some spaces available!

A full day of competition , including all three phases - dressage , showjumping and cross country!
Open to Newforest level riders and above.

Starting the day with grooming and tacking up your pony ready for dressage , then a break for lunch. Afterwards you will be competing in your showjumping round and finishing the day off over the cross country fences !
It will be a really exciting day and give riders a real taste for competing as if you have your own horse 🐴

~ please note that you must bring your own lunch and refreshments and that this activity is NON-REFUNDABLE ~

Join us on 30th August for our Show day & clear round showjumping ✨🏇

Show day morning starting at 10am , you will have lots of classes to pick from including a fancy dress class!
2 in hand classes and 1 ridden class per person, is included in one entry. We will have many classes to pick from, suitable for all stages of rider 😁

Clear round starting at 2pm , you will walk the course before warming up your horse and then jump round a course of fences. If you go clear , you will receive a rosette !
We will adjust the size of the fences, based on ability. We are also happy to do poles on the ground and teeny tiny fences for foal tots / shetlands / dartmoors 😊

Bookable online now via the website / app. Please note that each of these events must be booked individually, one does not give you entry to the other.

SHOW DAY🤩 30th AUGUST
Our show day is now live online for bookings!

What happens on show day?
You can start to arrive from 9:30am to prepare your pony and get them sparkling ✨ ready for a morning of showing. Classes start from 10am and finishes at 12:30pm.
You will get to choose two in hand classes and one ridden class to enter! We have a variety of classes to suit all and this show day is open to all levels of rider🐴

🌟 POLITE NOTICE 🌟

Please remember that we do NOT allow dogs on site , this includes the riding school and also the open farm!

This is mainly due to the risks involved, as we have several dogs living on site as well as our little fluffy yard supervisor pictured below (Ruby cat) 🐱

Please respect this rule - as we cannot allow dogs into the farm or the riding school so unfortunately, you may be asked to leave.

🌟TREC training ! 🌟
We still have spaces for our ridden and in hand TREC sessions on 27th August ☀️

What do you do?
The whole concept of our TREC training sessions is to expose our horses and riders to unique obstacles, giving them both the skills to overcome them. In these sessions you will be faced with things such as ; a wooden bridge , tarpaulin on the ground, a tunnel of branches to walk under and many other obstacles! These may not sound overly challenging to us , but to our equine friends they can be tricky to comprehend.

The focus of the session is to teach riders / handlers how to help our horses feel more confident tackling spooky/scary things, in the best way possible.
These are the type of challenges that we are not always able to teach in regular lessons , so make the most of this opportunity to expand your skill set ! 😁
• Suitable for riders aged 8+ , Dartmoor level + (including adults)

Thought we would give you a little preview of some of our new fences out on course! Our ponies and riders are going to have a lot of fun over these :D

Pip and Bree 💛

Our beautiful mare Pip and her stunning foal Pointibella Breeze (who’s now 1 month old), enjoying the sunshine and freedom in their paddock.
Pip is an amazing mum and has made us very very proud ! Bree is very sweet and loving, but also has that little sassy side - just like her Mumma! 👑

Junior summer camp fun🙈
Children have been enjoying painting their pony’s on the last day of junior summer camp! Rolo looks like he’s rather enjoying his pamper and he thinks pink is definitely his colour !💗

So if some of our grey ponies are funny coloured this weekend , you know why… 👀

Shetland & Dartmoor groups 👧🧒pictured are a few of the horses you may see in these groups !

Shetland groups - in this group children aged 6+ are practicing and perfect their rising trot (and sitting trot) , improving their balance and strength. We teach a variety of basic skills within this group, aiming to help children progress and be more confident. Polework is incorporated into lessons, perfecting steering and accuracy. We teach children about trotting diagonals , what they are and how to see if theirs is right/wrong and also why they are important to understand.

Dartmoor group - in this group children aged 6+ are balanced within their trot and learning to canter. The very basics of canter is taught and perfected here, aiming to be balanced and consistent in the seat even on different horses. Aiming to be able to ask for canter correctly and maintain the canter for a lap of the whole school. Polework is continued here and gets a bit more tricky to challenge and push riders. Trotting diagonals are understood and correct.
When riders are ready, we begin to teach light seat to strengthen riders’ core and balance ready for the next step too.

🌟All riders (over the age of 5yrs) must have had an initial private assessment lesson before we can grade them into any of our group lessons, as we have up to 6 riders per group we must ensure suitability for safety reasons🌟

Foal tot groups ! 👶 pictured are some of the ponies you’re likely to meet in this group🐴

We offer a special group for children aged 2 years to 5 years , all about getting comfortable with our ponies and enjoying the experience. Within this group, children will learn the very basics of riding by learning how to ask their pony to stop , walk and steer. We also introduce the feeling of trotting on horseback in this group and once children are comfortable with this , we will start to teach “rising trot”.
The idea of this group is to encourage little ones to become confident and understand what they’re doing / what they’re trying to get their horses to do. With this in mind , we like to ensure a mixture of lessons within the school and out on a hack around the farm track (weather permitting) to give variety and keep things interesting.

Prior experience is not necessary for this group and children are not required to have a private lesson before joining foal tot groups. Each child MUST have an adult leading their pony for the duration of the lesson, for safety reasons, as we have up to 6 riders per group.

Cross country clinic 🐎
We still have spaces for Connemara and Newforest level riders on 8th August for our XC clinic !
An hour and a half session where you can learn everything you need to know to prepare for cross country and riding over fences. An informative and fun session, making the most of the opportunity, as we don’t offer XC sessions all year round. Also perfect preparation for our ODE👀

This is open to regular riders.

🌟What to know before you join us for your first lesson …

• Please arrive in plenty of time , we suggest aiming to arrive 10 minutes prior to your lesson start time. We are unable to allow clients to ride if they are 10 minutes or more late (for a 30min lesson) for their lesson , as it’s unfair to our horses.

• Wear comfortable, non restrictive clothing. We cannot allow riders to ride in shorts or vest tops, regardless of the weather. Shoulders & legs must be covered for safety.

• Wear a boot with a small heel or wellies. No trainers. Appropriate shoes must also be worn by parents leading ponies.

• We can provide a hat for you to borrow for your first few lessons.

• Body protectors are optional , unless you are jumping.

• Upon arrival, see the TV screen for your name and the name of the horse you are riding. Head to the yard to find your pony or your instructor, ready for your lesson. If you’re ever unsure, feel free to ask a member of yard staff for help !
