Lovely walk with these four today 🤍
On this day 1 year ago I had my FIRST dog walk and began ‘Holly’s Hounds’. I cannot believe that was a whole year ago now. This is definitely the longest I’ve managed to stick at a job, so that says it all! I have always been a strong believer in ‘do what makes you happy’. I can’t think of anything worse than waking up everyday and doing a job I dislike. I’ve been there, and it’s the worst feeling. I created Holly’s Hounds and started completely from scratch. Along the way, I’ve learnt so many new things about different dog breeds, behaviours and just being self employed in general. It’s difficult running a business on your own, but it’s a massive achievement and I am very proud of myself. I did worry about not having employees to work alongside. It can be very lonely, but to my surprise, I have made friends through this job and met the loveliest group of girls. It’s so comforting having each other for advice, or just a big old RANT🤣but I wouldn’t have met these girls without starting my business. Sadly, I have lost two dogs along the way, Monty and Lola. Again, without starting my business I never would have met either of them and had the privilege to spend so much time with them. Monty was my first ever walk, 1 year ago today, and he will always have such a special place in my heart. I’ve formed such lovely bonds with so many dogs and it’s so lovely to be a part of their favourite time of day. With any job there’s always downsides, but seeing their smiley faces everyday makes it worthwhile. One of my favourite parts of this job is taking 📸 of their beautiful faces and capturing the fun on walks - even if my camera roll takes up all my storage🤣 But most of all, I am so grateful to everybody who uses my services, wether you are a regular customer or an ‘ad hoc’. It means so much to me!!! It really is a privilege to know that you put your trust in me to walk and look after your precious pooches as if they are my own
