UPDATE
Thankfully no damage to diaphragm which is fantastic news. Broken toe on one paw and degloving injury of the other leg. Surgery has taken place and now it’s wait and see. There is risk of infection and a risk of the leg not healing which would result in amputation but our vets will continue to do all they can to save the leg.
We were concerned that this little one is well cared for and obviously loved. Today we spoke to the previous owners who facing the potentially huge cost of surgery had made the heartbreaking decision to sign their much loved dog over to give her a chance rather than euthanasia. We have discussed the situation with them at length and have agreed that they will make a contribution to her treatment and surgery and will set up an affordable payment plan to reimburse us for the eventual balance once treatment is finished.
We intend to use your generous donations towards those costs but if anyone prefers a refund then do let us know.
We believe that everyone should have their pets covered by insurance if possible but so often it’s not until a disaster like this occurs an owner will realise just how important it is. This little dog will go home to an owner who loves her and will be in a place where she is happy. Hopefully her leg will heal and no further surgery will be needed.

This dear little dog has come in to our care from the staff at Valley Vets with a potential ruptured diaphragm and leg injuries following an rta and is now with Maesglas vets. We know we ask you so often but if lots of you could donate even a pound it will help us pay for the surgery needed. We are so grateful for your support but we really do believe all of them deserve a chance.
