This weekend our gold team carried out novel environment and vehicle searches.
We have now managed to successfully increase the search area to a much larger space. As well as that, we are now asking our dogs to search multiple scents of both gun oil and truffle oil! I’m really pleased with the progress this group have made - it was their best session yet! 👏🌟

Our bronze group worked on bag searches this morning and did a fantastic job! We also worked on reducing the size of the scent we are searching for to increase the difficulty and they all did so well!
Also, from this video, I’ve just realised how many times I like to say the word ‘nice!’ in these sessions! 🤣🙈

This weekend our advanced group were introduced to a brand new scent of truffle oil. In just one session they were successfully shaping their passive indications on the new scent within the environment around them!
It’s great to see the dogs working for the scent so enthusiastically with some lovely defined indications now. A big well done to all of them 👏

This week our bronze team searched for our chosen scent hidden within the natural environment around them. They searched 4 different areas (indoors and outdoors): kitchen, storeroom, picnic table and stacked palettes.
We kept the search areas relatively small to set them up for success. I’m really pleased with the progress this group are making each week! 👏🌟

Our gold level dogs and handlers have been working on people searches this evening and it was their best session yet! I am so incredibly proud of how well they all did 👏
We worked on introducing the dogs to unfamiliar people, teaching them to remain calm around them and to search them for our chosen scent. In just one hour we had reduced the scent size down to a small vial and had the dogs searching outdoors with a slight breeze to add an extra challenge for their noses! An absolutely brilliant session! 🌟🐾
