Kai 🐾
One of my regular good boys who I have seen since January 2023! Thanks to his owner for her support of canine massage and working hard to give Kai the best quality of life possible. Kai has lost the feeling in his back legs due to a neurological condition and now requires wheels to get around on walks but what he’s lost in mobility he has gained in playfulness as he has now started playing with soft toys! (which he never had before)
We have worked together to put as many things in place to make his life easier and he is doing so well!

Went and saw one of my regular furry friends yesterday - Douglas!
As you can see canine massage is a glamorous job - dog floof and all 😂🐾
He had a good session working over his tight muscles and taking his joints through a natural range of movement to keep them supple.

🐾RAISED FOOD BOWLS🐾
As demonstrated here by Poppy the difference a raised food & water bowl can make.
Pic 1: Excess weight bearing on the front legs and shoulders- overloading these limbs & joints. Neck extended. Arched back due to uneven distribution of weight. Wide back leg stance to support body. Not the most comfortable position for a older dog.
Pic 2: More even weight distribution and not putting as much weight on the front legs and shoulders, relaxed neck position. Better back position - less at arched. Looks more comfortable!
Very simple change to make to your dogs home environment which can help make them more comfortable in their daily routine 😊🐾

I am so grateful when clients allow me to connect and bond with their pets- as I know I am protective of my own dog’s wellbeing.

I spent an hour with Douglas today, in the sunny garden applying massage, range of motion and functional exercises to help Douglas recover from knee surgery and manage his long term conditions.

Allowing Douglas to choose to be treated and reading the signals he gives me over certain areas, allows me to apply a targeted massage to the areas Douglas benefits from most! So it’s a enjoyable, therapeutic and calming experience for him (and me!)
