I have always been around horses! I decided I would be a Farrier aged 11 At 21 I was qualified. I had been lucky enough to be trained by a very eminent farrier David Gulley FWCF. I then moved to Norfolk from Leicestershire in 1989 to setup my own business because i thought that a hunting ban when it came would make it difficult to make a living there (wrong!) .However that misguided decision 29 years ago was the best one i’ve made, i love Norfolk and live in one of the most beautiful old Parks in North Norfolk. I have experience of shoeing all types of horses and ponies in all sports be it eventing, show jumping, hunting, dressage and just about anything else especially pleasure riding. I have shod horses at every level of competition apart from Olympic although I have shod for two clients that were past Olympians.! I regularly attend seminars and demonstrations in all aspects of farriery and am keen to keep abreast of new technology. I have always worked alongside veterinarians as a remedial farrier and continue to do so. As I write this in March 2018 I am currently taking on extra clients something I haven't always done but find myself enjoying my work more each year, i am indeed a very lucky man.
