By now, hedgehogs should be tucked away for hibernation. So, if you see one wandering around your garden, it might mean it needs a helping hand.

Here’s how to know when a hedgehog needs help:

🦔 Circling, staggering or showing difficulties walking

🦔 Seems injured or distressed

🦔 Is out during the day

🦔 Trapped in fencing or a pond

🦔 Wobbly when walking

Please don’t leave hedgehogs out during the day. If you’re unsure, call your local wildlife rescue.

The darker evenings and chilly weather are here, which means a few extra precautions can help keep dog walks safe and enjoyable:

🐕 Use reflective collars or leads so your dog is visible to drivers and cyclists

🐕 Short-haired or older dogs may benefit from a warm coat in cold or wet weather

🐕 Keep your dog on a lead near roads and in the dark to avoid accidents

A little preparation means you and your dog can enjoy safe, happy walks all season long.

On World Radiography Day, we’re shining a light on how imaging helps us get answers for you and your pets.

X-rays allow us to:

🦴 Spot bone fractures and injuries

🫁 Assess the lungs and heart

🩺 Look for signs of illness in the chest or abdomen

🦷 Monitor dental health below the gumline

We use radiography daily to help us find out what’s going on with your pet, quickly and safely.

Guy Fawkes Night may be fun for us, but fireworks can be very frightening for our pets. Sudden bangs and flashes often cause stress, anxiety, and even lead to pets running away in panic.

Here are a few tips to help your pets feel safe:

🐾 Keep them indoors with curtains closed

🐾 Play calming background noise or music

🐾 Stay with them to make them feel safe

🐾 Make them a cosy hiding spot they can stay in, with their blankets and toys

If your pet struggles with fireworks, speak to us. There are ways we can help them cope better.
