Lynne Macleod and her horse, Hermes, will represent Great Britain at this years Working Equitation European Championships!

The Championships take place in the Czech Republic from the 19th to the 22nd of September. Lynne will be accompanied by Chef D'Equipe, Georgia Shone and this year's Team Trainer, Liz Diegutis.

Phew! The last couple of weekends have been massive for Working Equitation. Hartpury College and Aston Le Walls saw our biggest entries to date, over 50 competitors on two consecutive weekends! Thank you so much to all of the riders who came to both, it's a huge effort and we appreciate every single one of you, we hope we made it worth your while! As always the proudest moments for me are to hear the feedback after the show and especially from those who were coming to spectate for the first time, I had more than a few people come to me afterwards saying how fantastic and special the atmosphere and camaraderie is between all of the riders. This is something I have always believed is the key to keeping this sport unique. The senior development squad played a huge part in this in the 9 years it was running and it is so wonderful to see the Minis have now formed the same solidarity and team spirit in such a short space of time. In sport, passion and emotions run high at times, but Working Equitation is about healthy competition, good sportsmanship, friendship and fun, for everyone. We are a community, and we will always work hard to maintain and build on this as the sport grows.
I hope this photo brings a smile to the face of everyone who has played a part in this as a rider, judge, trainer, organiser or volunteer over the last 10 years!
One more national to go and then we have the finals! Can we beat our record? Entries open very soon!

In the 1970’s ….. I gave some talks on mental resistance of the horse and rider. Still have my notes somewhere. Was reminded of this today. Horses take tremendous confidence from the rider. You don’t have to be super brave. Just have to take a big breath and convince your horse. Don’t bend your horse away from problems. Shying is avoidable !! Bacardi’s first go at 18 with fire 🤩 show training ❤️

Friday Shoulder in Tip 🤩 1. Careful not to lose the outside shoulder or you will not get stretch through horses pectorals 2. Don’t hang on to the inside rein @remember wise words of Richard Watjen. “All lateral work is the same the only thing that changes is the yielding hand and the direction of movement” 3. When we talk about collection of the inside hind leg. Perhaps we should think about not blocking with the inside hand. Therefore energising the inside hind leg. Lastly hind legs should not cross in SI. Try not take inside leg back, otherwise hind legs will cross and movement is lost Happy Shoulder In Friday
