The Rat Wiki is made up of many different parts. However the original idea all came from listing and sharing as many of the best and helpful guides from trusted sources as I could find. Having them all in one place for everyone to learn from and to give their rats the best care possible.

With that in mind I thought it was a good idea to pick some of my favourites to feature every now and again starting out with the ones I tend to link the most on social media for people.

Today the first one I want to feature is the "Keeping Rats Alone and Not Providing Same Aged Company " Guide by Azuline Rattery. This is the third part of the "10 Most Common Mistakes New Rat Owners Make" series of guides by Zoe Lumour.

I personally love this guide because of how powerful it delivers it's message. I am a big believer in rats always having at the very least one friend to live with always. There are very extreme circumstances admittedly where it may call for a lone rat situation however 99% of the time I don't believe this is true. I see a lot of people all the time on social media thinking that they are enough for their lone rat when the sad thing is it's just not true. Now I could go into all the explanations here now of why most of us in the rat community agree rats need company but luckily I don't have to as this guide covers it personally.

The best thing we can do as rat owners is to spread this message in a constructive way and if you come across someone who isn't aware of the importance of same species company then having this guide at hand makes for informative and educational reading and may make a big difference in a lone ratties life.

Happy New Year to all my lovely customers and their fuzzballs 🎇🎆🥰🥰. I'm flat out doing show stock for Doncaster in just over 2 weeks, these fabby leafy Cheezwedges will be there amongst lots of other gear. Anything left after the show will go on the website but I have 2 bolts of this fabric so more gear will come, there will be cubes in it at the show too.
