This is Scamp and when he arrived at Hallswood, he had spent many years living a feral life and needed medical treatment for a badly infected eye, as well as being on generally poor body condition.
Thanks to the amazing staff and volunteers at the Sanctuary, Scamp is recovering well and not only that, he’s decided that humans are pretty awesome and that they give the best belly rubs.
With the continued love and medical support from the Hallswood team and our wonderful vets, Scamp now has a very bright future ahead of him and when he’s well enough, we would love him to find his forever home! 💜

💖 Will you be my Valentine and give me the gift of a new name? 💖
You may have seen posts that have gone viral in the last few days, where rescues have been asking their supporters to make a donation and name a cat after their ex-partner, often as part of a trap, neuter and release scheme.
Well, we want to do it a bit differently! - because unlike some of our exs, we love having these cats in our lives 😂
Many of you will have been following the journey of our 28 cats that came from a sad hoarding situation and they are all recovering well, so we thought it was about time that they are given names 😻
Out of the 28, 3 have been named by our staff; Gonzo - who had his emergency operation to have his dangerously ruptured eye removed, Smudge - who had a horrible open wound on their nose, and finally Willow - who is much loved by one of our Sanctuary staff, Rachael 💜
That leaves 25 cats in need of new names.
There are 14 females and 11 males.
So we thought it would be lovely for our supporters to help us name them all 💜
⭐️ If you have a name you’d like to give to one of our cats, we’d love you to make a comment on this post and tell us a little bit about why that name is special to you. ⭐️
If you would like to make a donation with your name suggestion, that would be amazing as it will go directly into the ongoing care and treatment of the cats but it’s by no means mandatory!
You can find out how to donate by visiting this page - https://www.hallswood.co.uk/donate
Our PayPal - https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/hallswood
Please make sure to use the name you’d like to give as the reference with your donation 🙂

Love is different for all of us - some of us love our significant other, many have love for their children and other family members, some have a platonic love, too many of us have love for someone who is no longer here…
One thing we all share though is a deep and unwavering love for animals and the love t

🎄🎉 A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL 🎉🎄
2024 has definitely been a rollercoaster for Hallswood, but through all of the many ups and some challenging downs, we have been supported not only by our amazing staff and volunteers, but by the huge community that the Sanctuary has come to know and love over the years.
Whether you’ve supported us by adopting a new pet family member (we’d love you to share photos!), attending one of our famous pop up stalls (the cakes are legendary, no?), by donating or buying items in our shops, by answering our appeals for electric fans in the summer months, or simply by commenting or sharing our posts on here, along with your generous monetary donations (every penny really does count) - we really couldn’t have continued to do what we do without you all.
To the staff and volunteers who work at the main sanctuary site and the other satellite sites - who are there to care for the many hundreds of animals, come rain, shine, and everything else - you are all AMAZING. You save and change animals’ lives each and every day 💜
A special thanks goes out to our superb fundraising team, the recycling team, the incredibly caring animal foster team and the transport team - all of whom are volunteers and give so much of their time freely.
There are also the numerous local businesses and organisations who have given their time, knowledge and donations.
A massive thanks to Rackheath Vets, who through their knowledge and care have saved and changed the lives of many of our animals.
The brilliant staff and customers at Jollyes Norwich - The Pet People for donating thousands of Pounds in animal food and other items.
Behind Closed Paws Adventure Park for allowing our dogs to have unlimited play and exercise visits.
Dunelm Norwich branch and their customers for supporting the Sanctuary through their Dunelm Delivering Joy scheme.

We have a huge amount of animals and birds at the sanctuary, some resident and others just passing through:)) Please excuse the cockerel sounds, they were all in the shaded area under where l was standing and they had a huge chat and top of their voices for the few mins i was recording!!

We have also released hundreds, yes hundreds of hedgehogs, all given a second of survival and freedom by your support:)
