Hi everyone. Sorry if you've been unable to contact me.
My phone has died and I have been unable to access phone numbers/WhatsApp/emails.
Unfortunately I'm no longer able to offer my services as I have moved away.
I have tried to get someone to take over from me but have had no joy 😪.
I would like to thank you all for your continued, loyal support. I have met some really lovely people and pets along the way.

For nervous, reactive or excitable dogs our solo dog walking service means that we are able to give your dog the one to one time and attention that he or she deserves 🐶🐾❤️.

Not all dogs are suitable for group walks and any size, type or temperament of dog can easily be catered for.

We also offer a free meet and greet service to get to know your dog and discuss any special requirements before they are in our care.

We are based in Calverton and cover a radius within approximately a 15 minute drive.

With summer fast approaching, many of us have days out planned and holidays booked, meaning that your canine companions might need some company for a while.

Days out & holidays aren't as difficult to plan with our tailored package of welfare visits which can include an over night stay depending on availability.

We have a lot of experience working with large breeds, and dogs with reactive & nervous personalities. We treat every dog as an individual & get to know their needs, likes & triggers so we are better prepared to offer them our best care.
Our own dogs dogs are 3 very big rescues, each with their own quirks! Reactive and nervous dogs can easily be catered for as we only offer individual walks so are able to offer these dogs the extra time and space that they need.

Last Saturday I had one of my most rewarding visits to date 🐰❤️

I was contacted by a new client about clipping her rabbits nails.

The owner explaimed that her daughter has struggled with the confidence to hande her 2 bunnies so it was safe to say that it was not an easy task! 🤣

I spent time with the owner and her bunnies and helped to show her how to handle them safely and with as minimal stress to the bunnies as possible.

By the time I left the owner had managed to hold her bunny for the first time 🐰🐰😍😍.

It is visits like this that really make me feel like I have made a difference 😊😇

Our most popular pets are dogs and cats but we cater for rabbits and guinea pigs too! 🐰🐰🐹🐹

Basic services (nail clipping, ear cleaning, basic groom/clip) are only £15 for the initial visit and then extra pets/services are only charged at an extra £5 which means that as well as being convenient and less stressful it can also be very cost effective! 😁

As pet owners ourselves, we understand how much pets mean to their owners. Unfortunately, pets are having to miss out on routine and preventative healthcare at the moment due to the cost of living crisis.

At Happy Paws we are committed to providing a high quality service at an affordable price.
We offer discounts for multiple pets/services. For example an extra nail trim would only be £5 for the second pet.

We also only charge an extra £5 per dog from the same household for our solo 30 or 60 minute dog walks.

For our regular dog walking clients we provide our vet nurse services at a reduced rate.

All of these things hopefully mean that we can provide healthcare and exercise to lots of lovely pets! 🐶🐶🐱🐱🐰🐰🐹🐹🐾🐾

We are looking for an experienced veterinary receptionist and a qualified veterinary nurse to join us!

We are looking for a Receptionist who will deliver an excellent standard of customer service by communicating sympathetically and courteously with our amazing clients.
Working in a busy reception, our Receptionists are responsible for processing clients information who attend, answering telephone enquiries and maintaining paperwork.
Working as part of a team, we sometimes require our Receptionists to cover some weekends and team members’ absences.

Animal Doctor is a busy first opinion practice therefore successful candidates will need to be organised, with good communication skills and an excellent telephone manner. Previous office experience, including word processing and use of a computerised records systems is an advantage but not essential.

RVN-We are currently recruiting for a qualified nurse to join us, ideally we would like the candidate to have some experience but a newly qualified nurse would be considered.

As it's international ladies day I thought I would properly introduce myself 😊🙋‍♀️

My name is Terri and I have been a veterinary nurse for over 15 years. During this time I have worked with many different animals all with different temparaments/personalities! 🐶🐱🐰🐹

I particularly enjoy working with cats and I have completed a certificate in feline nursing 🐱🐱♥️♥️.

🐰 E.cuniculi awareness 🐰

What is E.cuniculi?

E.cuniculi (Ec) is a microscopic brain and kidney parasite that affects rabbits along with a small range of other species. Some rabbits can carry the parasite without ever becoming ill whilst others may show a range of symptoms

Typical signs of infection:

Head tilting to one side.

Eyes may track side to side or up and down.

Shuffling or weakness on one or both back legs – in some cases paralysis

Uncontrollable spinning or rolling

Unexplained changes including seizures, deafness, cataracts or behavioural changes

Drinking and urinating more than usual due to kidney failure.

Are my rabbits at risk?

Potentially, all rabbits are at risk as infection is most likely caught from the mother. The parasite can also be caught later in life e.g. after being introduced to an infected newcomer, or sharing a grazing area with a rabbit carrying the infection.

How is it treated?

The two commercial treatments for Ec are Panacur and Lapizole, both containing the active ingredient, Fenbendazole. These products are also used for ridding your rabbit of intestinal worms. Both products are given orally for a 28 day period when Ec is suspected.

Prevention

Ec is surprisingly widespread and it is almost impossible to be absolutely certain that any rabbit is infection-free. However, it should be stressed that despite approximately half of all pet rabbits carrying the infection, only a small proportion of these cases ever show any illness.

We do not recommend routine worming to prevent Ec as, like any drug, it can be harmful and should only be used when necessary. This should be discussed with us at the practice during a consultation before using preventatively.

Neville was a really good boy for his nail trim. He hasn't been out on as many walks recently as his owner has just had a baby so his nails had got a bit sharp.
He greeted me with a big smiley face at the door, he struggled to sit still as he was so excited but a few treats helped us to get all of his nails clipped! 😁🐶🐶♥️♥️🐾🐾

🐦 BIRD FLU 🐦

Avian influenza is a notifiable disease of birds. It commonly circulates in wild birds in the winter months, associated with the migratory season.

Avian Influenza is a zoonotic disease, but human infection is rare.

Clinical signs in birds are variable between species and individuals, some infected individuals may be asymptomatic. Galliform poultry will typically show signs of disease, such as turkeys, chickens and quails

All birds should at this time be treated with appropriate caution and biosecurity, appropriate PPE must be worn, and sick birds may need to be humanely euthanised.

Please DO NOT bring any bird to the practice-please ring for advice

Findings of dead wild birds should be reported to the Defra Helpline - 03459 33 55 77

All suspect Avian Influenza cases in poultry and other kept birds must be reported - this is a legal requirement: Please report to Defra Rural Services Helpline on 03000 200 301

The clinical signs of HPAI in birds can include any or a combination of the following:

• sudden and rapid increase in the number of birds found dead

• several birds affected in the same shed or air space

• swollen head

• closed and excessively watery eyes

• lethargy and depression

• recumbency and unresponsiveness

• incoordination and loss of balance

• head and body tremoring
• drooping of the wings and/or dragging of legs
• twisting of the head and neck

• swelling and blue discolouration of comb, wattles and/or legs

• haemorrhages on shanks of the legs and under the skin of the neck

• loss of appetite or marked decrease in feed consumption

• sudden increase or decrease in water consumption

• respiratory distress such as gaping (mouth breathing), nasal snicking (coughing sound), sneezing, gurgling or rattling

• fever or noticeable increase in body temperature

• discoloured or loose watery droppings

• cessation or marked reduction in egg production

I visit Tinks regularly for a manicure/pedicure.
She is a shy girl and was very nervous of me when I first started to visit.
Today Tinks was very brave and stayed around afterwards for a fuss and some treats and as you can see from the photos she was very interested in my bag! 🤣🤣🐱🐱♥️♥️🐾🐾
