Newton Wanderer

Newton Wanderer Welcome to my new business, I provide a trustworthy local dog walking service to the Newton, Notting
(9)

So this is a new venture for me and I have been quite busy setting everything up and doing the best I can to provide a good quality service to you and your pet. I offer two adventurous group dog walks a day These are in small groups of no more than 4 dogs. I want small groups to give the dogs my full attention and to keep them under proper control as well as safe in this current climate. One of th

ose dogs is most likely to be my own dog bandit as he loves a good walk with friends and is my inspiration for this business. I like to take the dogs to woodland, parks, lakes and rivers so that they can follow their natural instincts, socialise with each other in a pack environment. This is stimulating for them as well as for me because nobody likes to do the same boring trip round the block again and again. I am sure you would like to know more about me well after leaving school I spent 10 years in Germany in the British Army and I returned to the UK after I joined Nottinghamshire Police. I have worked as a Police Officer for the last 23 years but my combined service has allowed me to retire early and after a lot of thought and patient planning I am fortunate to be able to work for myself but still continue doing something that helps other people. During my time in the Police I found that walking my dog was fun and the best way to get regular exercise and relax my mind. I have met loads of lovely people through our mutual love of our pets and I could to be honest I could not wait to combine something I love in my new business venture. I have been planning this for quite some time and although I have a lot to learn from your pets I hope to provide a good quality service to both them and you. I am DBS checked, fully insured and trained in Canine first aid. I am a Gold member of NARPS UK which is the National Association of Registered Pet Sitters and Dog Walkers UK. I hold a level 1 Animal Transportation certificate and I have an appropriate vehicle professionally fitted with LINTRAN cages and suitable insulation and it is thermostatically monitored with electronic ventilation. I have also had both my Covid injections the last one being on the 8th May 2021 and I will proudly show you all of my certificates at our first meeting. please have a look at the pictures to see what walks we have been doing
Please also feel free to contact me with any questions,

Kind regards
Brian

It rained last night but the woods was still very dry. I took Bandit, Raffi and Jake with me and the boys got busy with reclaiming all their favourite trees. Jake was screaming about looking for a chase and on our way we bumped into a lovely German Shepherd who was happy to herd Jake like a little fast moving sheep.
Bandit and Raffi were very chilled and enjoyed watching.
Great walk with some sausages from the van.
Have a great weekend

Dinnertime walk with Dolly,
We went for our usual stroll but Dolly enjoyed some treats in the park. She looks like she is trying to bite through a boiled sweet but it was a big treat with little teeth.

Bandit, Ruby, Coco and Miss Marley enjoyed the shade of the woods with a nice early start it was cool enough for a bit of stick chasing. They did find a muddy puddle to charge through just as we finished the walk though.

I took Bandit, Ruby, Daphne and Marley to the shade of the woods at Blidworth today. It was already getting warm when we arrived but the shade of the trees meant we had a lovely cool walk and we were able to stay out of the sun pretty much most of the way. The dogs found some friends along the way and a nice cool puddle to wallow in too
I got them some sausages from the food van to share so they should be settled until it cools off later this evening.

With children and pets spending more time together over the summer holidays, it's super important to watch dogs closely and listen to their body language ⚠️

Dogs' stress signals often get misunderstood or missed, with some owners not realising their dog is unhappy until they growl, snap or even bite.

The canine ladder of communication is a useful guide, showing the different signals dogs show through their body language to communicate. As a dog gets more upset, their body language may change according to the steps on the ladder 🚦

It’s important to note that all dogs are different - not every dog will show every behaviour on the ladder and might not follow the same order.

Find out more: http://pdsa.me/rfce

[Visual description: An infographic explaining Kendal Shepherd’s ladder of communication and how to recognise stress in dogs by the signs they show in their body language. This is a traffic light system with red signals being the worst. Green signals are: Yawning, blinking, nose licking and turning their head away. Yellow signals are: Sitting and turning their body away, walking away, creeping and having their ears back. Orange signals are: Standing crouched, tail tucked, lying down with their belly exposed in a submissive way, stiffening up and staring. Red signals are: Growling, snapping and biting.]

The return of car alarm bird. This little bird has learnt to copy the sound of a car alarm but when you come too close he goes quiet. He hasn’t learnt to do the double blip like he’s been turned off yet but he is still amazing none the less.

We went swimming today in Hoveringham Lake. Daphne, Bandit, Jake and Raffi were all super excited to get in the water. It was bright and sunny and the water was clear and inviting.
They should all be sound asleep and only hum slightly of cheesy Geese feet
Have a great weekend

I took Miss Marley, Ruby, Coco and Bandit for a swim in the sunshine. They really put a lot of effort into fetching every ball. You will soon get used to that faint smell of Goose in the living room.

Today was national chase Teddy the cavapoo day. He really got a workout having fun with Ruby and Jake. Marley was just chilled with his stick which he would only drop for treats. Daphne did also have a little chase with Teddy but she was looking for deep rainwater puddles to run through
We got a bag of sausages from the van to share of course

I had a nice walk with Dolly at lunchtime. She enjoyed some treats while we were meeting another local dog who had been scared by a balloon according to his owner. Dolly checked the local social media for updates too.

I took ‘The Boys’ to Blidworth this morning as it was drizzling with rain first thing. They all had a lovely time together. Marley found a truly panoramic car park stick that we had to shorten but he loved it all the same. Percy was a puddle monster but Buddy and Bandit were very chilled out.

Bandit and the muddy puddle buddies, Ruby and Miss Marley joined me today for a walk around Blidworth Woods. It was nice and cool with plenty of freshly filled puddles for the girls to play in. Bandit stayed clean but they all got a dog sausage when we got back to the van.

Dolly was not impressed I think the humidity was playing havoc with her floof. She did not want any photos and kept looking away staring into the distance whenever the camera appeared. She still enjoyed her urban stroll though.

They were all very well behaved. We may have a new government but for the dogs it’s business as usual, sticks, puddles and sausages.

Unfortunately it’s fishing season so the banks of the Trent were full of men in green tents with wheelbarrows full of equipment that isn’t dog friendly. So we took an odd route and managed to get into the Farndon Ponds and surrounding area. The dogs all had fun which is the main thing.

I took Bandit, Marley, Jake, Daphne and Ruby to Blidworth this morning. As you can see they enjoyed themselves sniffing and running about together. Marley was just happy with his stick he marched all the way round with it held high before spitting it out back at the van when it was dog sausage treat time.

I took Buddy, Bandit, Percy and Marley to Farndon for a swim in the River Trent. We went to our usual spot by the power station where the three eyed fish are.
The boys had a great time and even Percy had a proper swim.
