we take in ferrets around nottingham UK and the surrounding areas. we aim to rehabilitate and rehome where possible. however sometimes this isnt possible so we offer a forever home to those who need a little extra care. One found 14/2/24 & other 16/2/24. Both taken to the vet but now in rescue. If you think this is yoour ferret(s), please get in touch. Proof of ownership required ☺️

Yesterday we discovered that the lovely victor has developed a none moveable mass.
We are going to get him scanned to see what we are working with. This will be £150 , then if he needs to have bloods later, it will be another £100. (He may need surgery but when we cross that bridge we will update).

Hes only 2 years old and him and his brother vernon found their way to us after not being suitable for a college environment, which they where being used for handling with the students. Since here both boys have become first time ferret owner ferrets and so such lovely boys.

We will be running a fundraiser will be to raise the funds for him. I will be doing a separate post today with all the details on how you can enter. Please check out our page so you dont miss it.(we have hamkocks to win and other various bits and bobs)

Hi guys,

We are looking for more volunteers! 😊

If anyone would like to volunteer with us, we have weekday availability and weekend.

Unfortunately i cannot respond to forms and emails quicker with out help here, 98% of the time im a one man band (i get people getting angry as to why i havnt responded quicker, the ferrets come first).
Some weeks im completely alone (it cannot be helped and im not complainingabout that, just highlightingwhat its like), however we are looking for more people to be involved in various tasks (see our volunteer for with what we offer)

We take on work experience students now to.
We moved here for the ferrets, to give them a better life an expand, its really difficult to expand with out regular volunteers. We lost virtually all our help when we moved. Its sad to say but i gets really tough on some days (i have a painful chronic illness).

OUR VETS ARE TAKING ON NEW CLIENTS!

People often ask us which vets we use. Our vets other practice RAVENSDALE VETS (they are an independent practice that dont charge an arm and a leg) are now taking on new clients.

If you need a vet to neuter your ferrets/other animals or do an ultra sound, blood test ect, please check out ravensdale vets in Mansfield.

WHEN REGISTERING PLEASE LET THEM KNOW MARLEY’S FERRET RESCUE AND REHOMING RECOMMENDED YOU.

This will get you £10 of credit on to your account to use and £10 onto our charity account.

We often use them, so you may see us there! They have a fancy state of the art scanner and often dignose our cancer patients.

Hope this helps anyone looking for a knowledgeable vets!

Meet Mimi and Mazy!
These two lovely jills where dumped in a box on the side of the road. They are the sweetest duo and are very friendly.
We have no idea why someone dumped them, people are just cruel.

They will be up for rehome shortly, once neutered. They are very social with other ferret and very easy to handle.

Watch out for their update shortly!!

So the day we have been anticipating for a while has come...We are grieving. We said our goodbyes to the oldest ferret here...BERNARD
We are so grateful we got almost a year with this sweet old man.
He came to us in a bad way, already with testicular cancer, insulinoma, blind and deaf.

We are so grateful to have had him and his sister jane. He is now back with her and is no longer in pain.

We will miss you so much, old man Bernard. D.I.P ❤️

Unfortunately he just kept declining and the kindest thing for him was to stop his suffering 😭 We are heartbroken. D.I.P...

We have young Thomas in as an emergency at the vets currently.

He presented with not being able to walk properly and very lethargic. He also gave a fasting high glucose reading.

We is being seen as we speak and we will know more shortly.

Please keep him in your thoughts hes only 10months old 🙏

If anyone can help towards his emergency care, we would very much appreciate it. Fund are quite low atm 😔

Officially meet stinky pete who was the ferret saved from a bucket (sat in this bucket for 12 hrs). Hes such a sweetheart

We want to start out by saying thankyou ❤️ These guys are the reason we keep asking for your support. We hate asking we really do 😔 If we can reach more people who would support us a month, we may be able to cover our monthly costs of over £1000 (before we even start our routine vet appointment) We have 3000+ followers and if everyone gave £1 a month, we would be able to do so much more for these guys. We currently have around 130 (we are not at capacity, however our capacity will have to drop in numbers if funds are stretched) of these guys in with requests only getting more frequent. 9/10 of the ferrets we get in need neutering and basic care. We often take emergencies in. In the last year weve had, dentals, pen*s ops, several neglect cases so severe, we werent sure if anyone would make it, lots of emergency vet trips. We want to keep providing that for everyone but we need your help. You guys have been awesome so far and we cant thankyou enough. We just need a lot more help with our everyday cost, with out them the rescue doesnt run. Christmas presents!

WARNING DISTRESSING VIDEO! little Eggnog went for a routine castration yesterday and unfortunately started seizing after the procedure. Our amazing vets got it all under control but we have a while for recovery. Hes lost the use of his right back leg and is a little wobbly. HOWEVER, we have seen ferrets recover fully from similar situations so we will be giving Eggnog every chance of a happy life. He certainly isnt in any pain as he has been trying to run and be chaotic like his normal self. Please keep Eggnog in your thoughts 🙏
