It won't be possible for beautiful Archie to legally travel with her owners to Spain, she'll have to be rehomed 😕 The only option would be neutering her, which would be radical, dangerous and unethical, then not really an option. As you can see, it's not always good news here. Monk parakeets are from America and considered invasive in Spain, and even a plague in some areas, where they spoil the native ecosystem. It's the same as rabbits in Australia, grey squirrels in Britain or pikes in many rivers around the world, to say some. This is not coincidental, it's always the same thing, always the hand of man, in the case of monk parakeets, irresponsible trade, breeding and ownership. One way or another, we wish the best for Archie at her new home in England, and being aware that she'll be visited often by her previous owners, once they settle in Spain 🙂🦜
